Details of the new engine.

In probability this just might be the engine that fits in the new model. I prefer the mature looks of the present model though.
Media.Ford.com: FORD’S SMALL CARS GAIN A BIG NEW HEART

Is it remotely possible that Hyundai inflates their power/torque output figures for their diesel engines especially for the GETZ diesel?

They should jump ahead.

I hope they give the 2008 model a miss and jump straight ahead into the 2009 version. If this version comes here I then will have to think hard about keeping my Palio GTX because as yet I have not experienced a more all round hot hatch than the GTX.

The 2nd pic is of Ford Fiesta hatchback which is selling in few markets.
The sedan front is same like the hatchback.

Mod's Note: Do not post photos or images from other sites without mentioning the source. We take a dim view of such practices.
The Pics posted are of European Fiesta which is an entirely different vehicle,a small hatchback).

The Indian Fiesta only shares name with european model. rest everything is newly developed of our market. It is entirely different car.

I'm dead sure that this is not going to be launched here.
The 1.6 diesel though would be welcome.
Ikon was never specially developed of India or asia/africa. Infact Icon in India was old european fiesta, sold with name of Icon in India.

It is not unsual to spot an old icon badged as fiesta in Germany.

They both share the same platform. Hatch model is for Europian market and the Sedan is for India/Latin American countries.

Infact the ford Ikon is again a sedan version of older generation ford fiesta

Are you sure about european fiesta sharing platform with Indian Fiesta. I disagree upon that.

Both vehicles have entirely diffrent hard points set-up. for sharing platform atleast basic fixing points should be same, although overall length may differ like in case of old Fiesta hatch & icon sedan, they share same platform 100% correct.

Indian fiesta design process was entirely new, carried out by Ford of Aisa Pacific, intial process of design was carried out in australia in assistance with Ford of India & few european companies & later phase was done in India.

What about the electronic controls on the wrong side i.e for a LHD on a RHD car and the bonnet opener on the other side of the drivers seat. Forget about developing the car for Indian markets it has not even been adopted properly for India.
