The facelift Fiesta Sedan has been launched in Brazil last year itself.
If you need proof you can visit Ford's Brazil website. I am confident that
this facelift will soon be seen on our roads before July 08. Regarding 1.6 litre
diesel engine I had read it some website few months back. So just hope its true.

The 2nd pic is of Ford Fiesta hatchback which is selling in few markets.
The sedan front is same like the hatchback.

Unless you have inside info, please note the body panels are totally different rear doors aft so it will cost a lot unless Ford expect big volumes. Beside with the forthcoming Verve concept shown in Chine, Ford will not give us something outdated but then Ford is Ford

Hope the Diesel 1.6 rumour is true.

So far Ford has never done any major upgrades like these to any of their range except for some changes in the Fusion they too weren't as big as this one. So I have my doubts about this being brought in here.

OR

They might launch ford focus with 1.6 diesel and a 1.8 petrol. i think after the success of fiesta, ford in india can increase their range into 1 million range.

They have gone and messed it up. As it is traditional of any good looking popular car.
They mess it up with a facelift. I used to love the rear, it used to more than make up for the rest of the car. Dam it had a sexy looking posterior
Now it looks just...well... UGLY.

I agree, this can pass off as an 'updated' Icon but not a Fiesta. That's much better looking and to me a more refined, proportional design. Even though the Fiesta looks unduly narrow it works.

Wasn't the Indian Fiesta designed in Australia, I remember reading about it here. Wouldn't that team work on updating the design rather than getting the Brazilian one, which apparently has been out for some time. So that's curious, why did they not get the Brazilian one in the first place?

Doesnt look like an upgraded Fiesta at all.
The Ikon was designed for devloping nations like India, pak, south/Latin America, africa...if im not wrong......but this doesn't look like an up graded ikon, but more like a down graded Fiesta.
I'm dead sure that this is not going to be launched here.
The 1.6 diesel though would be welcome.

I dont think Ford has plans to facelift its Fiesta, atleast not for next few months. A friend of mine working in Chennai factory told me this. I am not sure about the 1.6 engine.

IIRC, the Fiesta was tested extensively in Australia, with even Indian petrol flown in specially to simulate the fuel conditions here. I dont remember if it was designed in Australia.

Karan, what some of us are trying to say is that the Brazilian Fiesta is just that...made in Brazil for Brazil and likewise for the Indian version. And they were developed almost simultaneously for their respective markets. So the update that the Brazilian version got maybe specific for that version only.

The 1.6 TDCi has been talked about for a while now, auto mags have been talking about it for a year and a half. My guess is that the Focus will get the same engine in a different tune.
