CL-Class....is it out???

hey guys..was just cheking out the Merc website and found that they have included the CL-Class in its list of cars too..

has it been oficially launched??

I don't think it has been launched in India.It maybe available as a special import.

All Merc cars are officially available in India the moment their RHD versions get launched abroad (exceptions being the A-Class & the SLR). Reason being that other than the C,E,S they import everything as a CBU anyway & would be more than happy to get you a CL or an SL or a CLK etc.

i think it is. had been invited for the hyd's launch few months back. as far as i recall the model on display was delivered to a newspaper baron from hyd.

@iraghava - Just for curiosity sake - Why can't the SLK be imported?

What made you ask that question?
anyways in india they sell slk 240 and slk 350 as cbu imports.

i remember merc had displayed the cl along with the s320 cdi some months ago , the cl is priced at 1 cr (cl 500 ) , the GL super suv could also come price would be more than Q7 at 80 lakhs

SLK 200 has been homologated. Any car costing over $40000 and 3 litre CC and above does not need to be homologated. Thank Mr Bachchan, Ambani and a lot of rich influeential people etc for this.

that means you can import any car above the 40 lakh price , thats why lambo opened its dealership in india along with porsche , bentley, earlier this was not possible

i have seen a cl 500 in chandigarh about 2 months back was white and was driven by a young man very sedately and what a car absolutely loved it

the new S is CBU too. The CL is aviable but haven't seen any around. My fav coupe of the mb stable.

S350L and S320L are locally assembled. All other models are direct imports

i havent seen a single one on the road too...wonder how many have been sold in mumbai..
