HM - When will they learn

Read somewhere that they plan to launch the Carisma.

This car was built as a joint venture between Mitsubishi and Volvo in europe. Was regarded as a bland car in its time and has since been chopped. so who picks up the tooling ? Yep HM !

When you have cars like the City, Swift, Civic etc which are current ehy go for the Carisma. No doubt us desi's will only go for a Carisma beginning with a K !

Ajmat as we all know HM is never going to change. I also read about this but can't figure out where. But I also think they're planning to give it a better heart to be in the market with the current bunch of cars.
By the way do you have any picture of this from your huge archive?

i think there was a picture in the autocarindia november issue
whats the point with launching new models if they are outdated worldwide.
people out here want new cars not old crap ones
with newer and cooler cars coming to india this is going to be a very bad move by HM

read in the paper yesterday that HM is planning to launch new lancer with 1.6l, montero sport (also called pajero sport and challenger) and a new D segment car (my guess is the galant).

The only good thing HM ever did was introduce the Lancer 7 years back. Since then, neither did they upgrade it nor replace it with contemporary products. Surprising since they had access to a 1.8 L engine all the time. More surprising since the Lancer had built quite a reputation for itself.

I really wont be surprised to see a Lancer "Avigo" version with my grand children 50 years down the line.

i saw the pic of carisma and my only comment would be that from what i have heard, the shapes of car to come in future is going from round to square ( saw it in NDTV programm on cars forgot the name )

so with a round shape in this car i dont know how much wil be the sales figure. anyways half of the ppl here in india do not know that this car is a scrap in other countries.

The car looks quiet outdated now and looks similar to the lancer. I don't see any good point in launching it now in India and Iam sure it won't be a hit here.

The Carisma was supposed to be a really characterless car in its time. It just didn't live up to its name.
To be honest, in recent years, there are just 3 models from Mitsubishi that impressed me - the Shogun (Pajero), the Challenger (don't know if they still make it) and the EVOs.
BTW, you guys must have seen the old Debonair - it looked really unsubtle compared to its rival, the Toyota Crown Royal Saloon.

The carisma was a great car in its time but not anymore. If anything, HM should bring in the new Pajero and/or Galant!

Exactly Deeps. Mitsubishi should get the Galant. Ps: There was one version of the Galant from which Mitubishi took the rear design and added it to one of the Indian Lancer which was introduced as the Special Edition...remember??

Tell you guys what HM should do... Start working out fresh on good old AMBY.
Proper power steering (I believe the current one is not up to the mark), ABS, all wheel disk brakes, proper noise insulation, better body panel with tight shut - gaps, improved suspension (current set up is not too bad though)....

Go back to old design..say mark II. Stop these current stupid looking whatever they have. Have a choice of few great colours. Black and white are the best I feel.

Trust me, it'll sell.

P.S. In turn, I can also work these out in my car.
