This thing sells for 8000 pounds in UK. If fiat assembled it in India, this car would cost under 7 lacs.

I hope the official price is lower, coz there more fan following for millicento ( old gen FIAT 1100 )than Cinqecento
Its coming as CBU (completely built unit), definitely above 13 lakhs. In fact if Fiat's word is to be believed they are going to decide who can buy the car

I'd like to see how many on the forum will actually buy it at 13 lakhs. Best of Luck selling this, but I guess Fiat's looking to rebuild their brand with flagship (?) models such as these.

And how many variants will this have?

Base version 13L
And top end 15L ?

2 door hatch for 13L!!

This is real amusement for me. The car and the pricing. I guess not more than 500 units could be expected to be sold through out the country and nobody knows it's future. What is FIAT doing? 500 for 13L and Bravo could well be 25L. Only Linea aimed at volume business.

People caring so much about exclusivity will as well get any car imported.

I dont know if people will be happy to get it serviced from TATA!

If it were just a copy of the VW Beetle, FIAT would not have been selling them like hot cakes. It's the car that turned the fortune for Fiat. But all said and done, I doubt if it will sell in India, if the price were to be pegged at 13 lakhs. It is too much for a "small" car. After all, size matters very much here.

VW is going to sell Beetle in India for 20 lakhs......so 13 Lakh price for 500 is justified

:-) ....... mhmmm...where is my NaNo...?

Repeat of S10

I'm not sure if there is a market for this car even as a lifestyle product in India. I only hope Fiat manages this better than their S10-Palio release. If I remember correctly they had only 100 of these cars but there were no buyers and the last few pieces were going at great discounts.

I guess with CBU route they may import only against firm orders... well lets wait and see.

That was very funny
But Fiat themselves have told that they are targeting celebrities who would buy this a lifestyle product.
So i am really not sure, why are we talking about a high price tag, when this is clearly aimed at a niche market.

Is the new Ford Ka released? I read somewhere that the new Fiat 500 and new Ford Ka share platforms with each other.

Thanks a lot for the picture Priyank. This car is surely going to click with the "rich" masses!!! Only thing they need is a good brand Ambassador at this point of time.

OT: Who should be the ideal brand ambassador for the FIAT of the next generation?

Sachin/Hritik (Akbar)/ Dhoni?? Amir khan?

Aamir Khan would have been good, but he is already with Toyota.
Sachin/Hrithik/Dhoni are too common and are ideally suited for masses.

I'd say get Brad Pitt/ Angelina Jolie or Beckham if you really need a brand ambassador for the 500!!

No it won't. I have seen a couple of SRV's on road at least. With that pricing the 500 will not move out of the showroom. But then you never know, just advertise a FE of 15 and the car will sell
