Confirmed - Land Rover to setup production facility in India

Quote:

According to sources speaking with InsideLine, Tata purchased a 450-acre swath of land in Gurgaon, outside of New Delhi, for the explicit purpose of building Land Rovers. That's going to be a tough pill to swallow for LR's labor unions, which supported the sale of the both companies last year after Tata became the top bidder.

Gurgaon? Paying crazy price of 5-6cr per acre driven up by real estate players? Does not seem likely.

Good news? If this one goes through properly, then we shall get hold of Freelander @Safari prices and Disco @Montero. Lets hope that happens for the better.

if tata buy's JLR, they should start selling the prv. gen discovery here for,. say about 15 lakhs with a 2.2 crdi dicor engine, it will sell like hot cakes.. i may be wrong but that's my thinking

if mitsubishi is able to sell its old gen pajero.. then i am sure tata can also do this .. just modify a little bit on the disco. and we can have a desi disco here..

what do you think folks?
