Accord'08, Civic Sport n Hybird, Jazz..

Went to Ace Honda(NOIDA) today and was pleasantly surprised to see the '08 Accord, Civic Hybrid, Jazz and Civic "Sport" all positioned elegantly.

-'08 Accord

-Looks muscular from outside and seemed bigger than its predecessor!, I kind of liked it but i loved the previous one.

-Interiors were dissapointing to say the least, it gives civic-ish feel and the whole setup looks sporty "yes" but not at all luxurious which we had in the previous accord.

-Launch in 2 weeks.

-No v6 .

- Cost to be around ~19L

-Civic Sport

-Just fell in love with the Sport, Looked awesome with skirtings, alloys, spoiler etc

-Was told that alloys would be body coloured as well and a bigger engine than the current one.

-Launch end of year.

-Top model to have Sunroof and would be fully loaded with latest gizmos.

-Cost~20L

-Couldnt peep to see the interiors cos of the ultra dark tints but was told that some changes are there.

-Civic Hybrid and Jazz

-CH launch in 2mnths time and Jazz in 2010
-CH costing ~18L and Jazz ~7L.

20L for Civic Sport?? Lets see what Honda is going to put into that one to pull of that kinda pricing. Man, I could get a V6 Accord for the same price !!!

you're right...the accord interiors look too similar to the current civic.

The Civic sport at 20L will be competing with the laura vRS (if it ever comes out). I'm guessing that would be close to 20L too...

are these prices ex-showroom?

will be interesting to see people buying civic sport for 20L. people will probably buy those type-R stickers :-)

Even i asked the dealership the same question, they said it'll be a completely new engine from Honda's stable with loads of "extra" stuff and hence the MASSIVE hike, But i still expect these to sell like hotcakes.

What if that engine is an option

Jazz by 2010? Hello! That would be too late!

everything i got to know was from the dealership itself !, They did sounded quite confident about all the facts...

But still no information is 100% correct until Honda themselves decide to come out in public, but i think this would still be quite close to that..

The question is what engine are they putting in the sport? If its a 200bhp+ engine then its worth it I guess.

Nice scoop Monaro!
Civic "Sport" @ 20L. Is it with the 2lit engine? Wonder what the Type R prices would be like, if and when its launched.
The new Accord looks nice. 2.4 170 odd bhp. But, what is the meaning of around 19Ls? Wasn't it supposed to be priced a lakh more than the current generation??

Sweet scoop! I am excited about both, the Accord and the Civic Sport. The Accord is going to once again redefine the D-segment....if international reviews are anything to go by. It will give a run to the Camry / Teana brigade as much as to the C / 3 series segment.

The Civic Sport may be just the answer to the Skoda RS. If there is talk of a bigger engine, it could be the mega 197 BHP 2.0 liter from the Civic Si. Redline? 8000 rpm!! *Mouth watering*. I doubt it will be priced at 20L though, a 2 - 2.5 lakh premium would be more like it.

I suspect the same too. The four door version here might be the same as the Civic Si 4-door thats sold in the USA. It does look great this white civic with those white alloys!

Accord launching already ? Nice !...has the car reached bombay showrooms too?

Have bookings started yet? I desperatly need to upgrade my Accord and what better replacement than the newest accord ! BUT my only criteria is the the avg need to be better than 5.5-6kmpl which is what i am currently getting.

Any confirmed figures on FE? If its good enough i should consider pre-booking.

Civic is already kssing the roads at each bumps, It looks like Civic sports is going to hug the roads all time. Best Road grip in class!
