Its my strong feeling that Ford is not going to give 1.6 TDCI in fiesta at least till the end of life of the current model. If the Focus is launched they might consider 1.6 TDCI for a lower end variant.

Another reason why I believe Ford is not going to give us that engine anytime soon is that I don't see any test fiesta's running along the GST road in Chennai at all.

I saw 2 TDCI Ikons at Ascendas, Chennai today morning. Beige and Maroon color cars. Guess it was for some photoshoot, since one chap had a long range DSLR. The front grill looks more like a compressed new Fiesta. Dint get a chance to look into any more details, since I was getting late. But I assume the launch is pretty close now

I saw two NEW Red Ikon's on Hosur Road near Madivala (Bangalore) just an hour back. It was not a test mule and looks like it was heading towards showroom in the city. I was on the opposite direction but noticed the change on the front bumper and New Fiesta like headlamps. I guess the launch must be round the corner.

Probably the badging? However, lets wait a confirmation from the horse's mouth.

OT wish: Plonk 1.6 TDCI engine in the Fusion with some reduced pricing

Bingo! I was right with my prediction. That's a very good news that you have given to all of us here Fountain. Way to go. Were you able to check the rear or fenders badging as well to determine the engine?

I am missing that rubbing hands smilies here. Can we add those as well?

Looks like finally Condor has something concrete to look forward to.

@FH : How does the new front look in flesh? Were they ugly, as the initial snaps suggested?

@FH, how could you miss telling us this ? Also, did it look like a little shorter (I'm hoping for a sub-4m length).

@Harry10, nothing in the flesh yet. Just the one that has been doing the rounds, like the one on AutocarIndia's web-pages.

I front looked exactly like the pics posted by AutoCar (?). As mentioned earlier the front looked like a sandwiched Fiesta (New grille). Dint get too much time to notice interiors etc. There was no mention of 1.4 on the rear. Just plain TDCI.

It would be good if the pics are posted, else things seem to be very baseless.
