That is very disappointing nothing new to talk about!

The new bumpers just give similarities to new Ford family. I think the only reason for it survival would be the diesel heart but that to if priced sensibly.

Ford Ikon 1.4 TDCI Diesel

Coming in November as per autocarindia.com

:: AUTOCAR INDIA - CAR AND BIKE MAGAZINE ::

Did not get any thread on this on search.
Likely discussed with New Fiesta thread.

If true. hope for some more choice/competition in economy sedan.
However pricing from Ford to watch out yet.

If thats how the car looks, as is in the pic, then it looks really ugly!

Baby Fiesta eh ? I guess with the number plates it'll look a lil better.

What is Ford waiting for ? Even though the Ikon is a very old model, I guess Ford lost the battle to grab a few of the waiting Dzire customers :|

Although the front end job is not that bad, it looks way too much busy on the present model. Ford should have come up with a new platform from europe, then plonk in the existing 1.4 in that car, and let Fiesta have 1.6 diesel heart.

Ikon is too old to take on that styling. Had it come two years ago, it would be a hit. IMO, this car cant hold a candle against the front end of Swift Dzire. Swift looks modern, not this. The new front end of Ikon clealry indicates it a job done to hide its age.

The Ikon in the pic looks outdated for sure. I think the present Ikon looks way better in the front. I think the designers lost the Josh !! The headlamp doesnt even match with the bumper.

If the Ikon will have the 1.4 diesel then fiesta surely will have the 1.6 engine then. Cause don't think ford will be that foolish to use the same engine in 2 diffrent segment knowing that it will surely effect fiesta sales. Hence the delay in the Ikon launch. Cause if I am not mistaken we had snas of both the cars being tested together. Then why is the fiesta already launched and the Ikon delayed?

The Ikon has been a good car for them and it is imperative that it is given a fresh lease of life. Talking about a fresher car, that the Fiesta at a different price point.

Hopefully, this will grow on people. The picture in the article has been shot from dead front and its also of a car in a colour that does not really do justice to the aesthetic appeal of it. As for people who liked the older look, they can easily retrofit the older face.

I really think it does not look ugly - IMHO it looks better than the ikon before, and if they decide to price it against the Dzire and Logan it just *might* become a real good deal, as I think the 1.4 engine on the fiesta is not a bad one at all.

That ORVM is a huge plus in the Ikon! My car has had countless hits on the ORVM's from Bikers, Pedestrians and what not. It has never given up, due to its flexibility. The mirrors look pretty small but does not really impede rear vision.
