i10 CRDi is superior

i10 CRDi even though is 1.12 l in size, but will generate 75ps of power which is same as swift DDiS or Palio MJD or Indica QuadraFire,

Althought the torque is around 3.5kg-m lesser, but the i10 will still beat other cars due to power to weight ratio advantage ....and another better feature of i10 diesel over others will be the peak torque availability which will be almost 100 to 200RPM earlier than other cars .. simply put i10 diesel will overtake other cars in traffic much faster and much earlier ...

another most most important point with i10 diesel is it will be VGT .... hence the turbo lag would be as minimal as possible ...

3kgm lesser ? not at all possible if 1.2L 75hp vgt. then 3 hgm less? thats too much difference.

Please share your source of Info mate.

i10 Diesel & i20 in 2008!!

It seems Hyundai is getting ready for quite a few new launches this year

- i20 to be launched by year end
- i10 diesel to follow late 08 or early 09
- SantaFe coming in as CBU by Year End.

I think the biggest news is the i10 diesel launch, which priced competitively can really take the fight to Indica, which still has the major stronghold when it comes to diesel small cars. But i definitely believe it will be priced well, especially since the engine will be made in India as against the norm of Hyundai importing their diesel engines.
The report also mentions an 80 BHP i10
I'm not sure whether thats the spec of the new diesel engine or another petrol option as its not specified in the report, Good news nonetheless.

Also the i20 is another model to look forward to although i have no idea where Hyundai is going to slot it.

Heres a link to the report in case you guys wanna read it,

Hyundai to launch diesel variant of i10 by '08-end

Man i10 itself is an expensive car. It is surprisingly doing well considering its price (top model costs as much as swift zxi!)
I dont think hyundai can price its diesel version well enough to take on indica diesel.

As per the reports i20 will replace Getz. i10 diesel is an excellent option. I think Hyundai is not very agressive in pricing like before. i10 petrol is already overpriced . i10 Magna is priced at 4.45 lacs on road. So i10 Magna D would be surely priced around 5 -5.25 lacs on road. The Swift DDIS is few k's more expensive.

Going by past experience, it is highly unlikely that the Diesel i10 will be competitively priced. IMO, even the petrol is a bit overpriced. Swift is definitely a better buy.

i10 and Verna are horribly overpriced. Going by what they have done to Getz CRDI, i10 D will just be another non-volume overpriced car.

Very True that Hyundai Diesels are overpriced, but an i10 diesel playing in the 5.5lac zone will be death knell for the car with the presence of Swift Diesel. I hope its a lesson they've already learnt with the Getz D being a non seller. Also with a locally made engine there is hope i suppose.

If the hyundai can somehow get good performance and efficiency with the i10 engine. It may have great sales.

ALso i dont think Magna D will come in the same way as ZDi does not come in the Swift. This would mean the 2nd top model with good features and abs and airbags. Top it with Diesel Engine and Hyundai might have a winner at hands .

Having Read the article. It is surprising that Hyundai is introducing LPG santro and simultaneously introducing the Diesel i10.
Two low running cost cars in the same bracket.

I just cant understand this tactic

P.S.

The Article also mentions the study of Indian market for an updated Sonata
