Fastest "street-legal" sedan

i think any car above 120 hp can easily maintain 150 kph ,eg skoda rs , ford mondeo , honda accord etc.
The bmw and benz are in a different league

my longest in my magnum was bangy - kollam. I did it in 10 hours time +3 hours of block near coimbatore+1 hour break at various places. I never felt any understeer / body rolling all through. I could maintain 140kph without any problem. I feel its a perfect balance between ride quality and handling. Aferall we are not daily racers.....

Buddy, AFAIK if it's a sedan then it's bound to be street legal. I don't think there's any sedan which isn't street legal.

^^I think what the thread creator meant was non modified sedans. Once modified, officially a car ceases to be street legal. Ofcourse in India, anything works.

I've driven a magnum for significant amounts of time and though it has a lot of grunt on the straight line, it takes quite some effort to get it around corners. It understeers like a dog just like very other GM car. (other than the corvette z06 which has incredible handling)

Well I tend to agree that Cedia would have better handling than Magnum though. The philosophy behind the 2 cars is different.

But then if I compare a Cedia with a Civic, the tables will turn. Agree/Disagree?

Civic is no way close to mitsubishi handling and driving dynamics.

I agree.Cedia is more of a drivers car.

In my last three trips to Pune and back, I have always maintained speeds around 160 + upto 195 also in blips( speedo reading) in Verna , on expressways. All Verna owners(VGT), will agree that its very capable , very balanced and very composed on this speed on the roads that permit this speed.

The SKODA family is simply outstanding in the handling segment ... i personally own a Laura M/T ... it simply is awesome when it comes to approaching the corners at high speed ...

Guys

Only two cars in the sub 12 Lakh category that I have taken at a sustained 150 + speeds are Civic & Verna. Verna is the quicker of the two, I think I could easily cruise at 175 + but at that speed once I needed to break and the car just didnt know which way to go. Civic will easily cruise at 150 and is much well behaved in terms of handling at that speed. I have a SX4 which is again good and is much better in handling but at 130-135.

I have SX with ABS (Verna) and my experience has been other way round. While stopping/ slowing there is absolutely no problem but if suddenly floor the throttle in second gear car suddently pulls in awkward way , steers to heavily towards left as a drunken monk.

I dont know how it feels /seems from outside- does it really veers too much or is it just I feel, but it definitely has helped me a couple of times, overtake that bad taxi driver who thinks he can cut from left or that Best Bus driver who thinks who owns the whole road and suddenly steers right at full throttle in a sticky situation. Only care that I have to take is that I have to hold the steering tightly in straight line.
