I think that every car manufacturer will now have a car in the $3000 USD price point. Already Bajaj, Renault have made their plans public. Ford also have indicated-- can't remember where.

I think these will be at a price point between the nano & the M800

A hatch thats priced lower than the Spark? Thats really not an uphill task, is it! Before they move on to the next big thing, I suggest a clear concise pricing strategy for the Spark. With the several but inconsistent discounts and price corrections, it seems GM themselves cant decide how much the Spark is worth.

Lol so true GTO, GM seems to be trying every trick in the trade to get a foothold in the Indian Auto scene, problem is they are trying it all on just one model the poor little Spark

Very interesting. Why cant they just launch the Aveo or the Spark with a diesel engine instead of bringing in another model which will confuse their own customers.

Seriously GM were offering so much discounts on Spark. The first few buyers of Spark will be banging their heads ! I think GM should launch the New U-va and also launch it with the 1.3 DDIS!! Maybe it will improve sales of U-va .
I aint sure if Beat will the car priced below Spark!

I agree GM should learn to price their cars properly first, and then decide on bringing newer ones. Also the aveo with a DDIS engine if priced well(highly unlikely) should be a good seller.

Beat will be higher than spark...

Here is what they should do! Launch the new U-VA with the 1.3 DDiS, not before it at all. I mean the new Diesel UV-A should be available from day one when it is launched.

Beat can't be priced below the spark, c'mon. Spark is as cheap as it can get. It is even cheaper than what Matiz was earlier. We bought the matiz in 2000 for 2.84 lacs ex-showroom...the SD. The corresponding spark model with A/C and nothing else is just 2.66 lacs here in Pune ex-showroom which is great for what it offers.

Also, GM reduced the prices because of increased localisation of the Spark's components, which somehow I believe since it was exorbitantly priced when launched, same with the Matiz....

Beat cannot be cheaper than the spark and would be a segment higher, possibly with the Splash or the swift/getz/i20 level.

Can you believe it, we have so many segments in only hatches, no other country can imagine replicating that model in the market...

Thats great, all these cheap cars are doing wonders for India's image worldwide. People are going to think what sort of a country this is...

As for this new car...I think its desperation. Everyone wants to cash in on the cheap car for Indian families. Can't let TATA get all the money from this new segment created. Only competition is going to be the cheaper alto so it's good to see other companies making cars specifically for us.

Car in pic looks bigger, may fall in U-VA / Spark territory.

It doesn't look like a NANO category car.

If beat has to priced between Nano & 800, IMO, thats the great competition & only we are going to benefit.

Lets hope for the best.
