hey guys..
Fiat has responded to me too like it did with merve. But my reply came from the Fiat India. I guess the mail was forwarded to the indian company from fiat italy.
Here is the response:

Dear Mr. Amit,

As regards our Fiat India web site, currently it is under maintenance and shortly it shall be re hosted with the current updates as regards our Product and Price information.

There was some miscommunication as regards the message put on our site and we have taken suitable steps accordingly.

In the meanwhile if you need any information about our car or prices or dealer network please do not hesitate to contact us. we shall be more than glad to assist you.

You can contact me on :

niki.desai@fiat.com

or on my tel no: 022-25097112.

Regards,

Niki Desai

Product

P.S. -Mr. Richard is not in charge of this activity and thus you are requested to get in touch with us for any assistance /query

They didn't reply to me about fiat india's future or future model launches. I had asked them about panda, idea, Multi-jet engines too. Anyway, at least they responded.

Just go to fiat.com and head to the contact us section. You will get a form in which you can fill in your name, email id and your message.

Just take a look at this post:
http://news.independent.co.uk/busine...p?story=610900

The jist of this post is that GM and Fiat have ended their 5 year honeymoon (?). GM is paying Fiat 1.55 bn Euros to get itself out of the put option. Fiat can now concentrate on other alliances which it was not free to do when it was in alliance with GM.

Here is another news for the Indian unit. It seems that Fiat is in touch with Hinduja group to provide them support for marketing, services, etc, for India unit. Looks like things are brightening up. Fiat MD is also planning to visit India and he is pretty serious about India operations.

I saw in this Globa and Mail article...

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...tory/Business/

... that it is 1.55 billion dollars, not Euros.

But in any case, that is a lot of money. Let us hope it will be enough for Fiat Spa (and Fiat India) to tide over there present troubles and regain their footing as one of the world's premier car makers.

Fiat will supply diesel engines to GM - does this mean that the maruti project is now still born ?

Looks like a clone of the FIAT - PAL partnership model..Fiat looks more and more like a holding company than one who makes cars for a living..
