They had given good features in the car with good price but Built quality is again not upto the mark.

I had to wait for 2 hours for the test drive, so i came back home.

I went to get a test drive of the Dzire today but the car had gone to some customer's house for a test drive. The salesman said the car will be back in two hours, so I came back home too.

By the way, I checked the one on display at the showroom. It was a VDi. Neat job they have done with the fully integrated music player. The specs are exactly the same as the Swift hatch, except for the addition of a boot which makes the length different. Quite a spacious boot. If I was upgrading from a wagonR/Santro, I would bypass the Swift and go for the Dzire. But I can't do it as I already have the Dzire minus the boot (the Swift :D).

But now comes the shocker !:Shockked:
The salesman quoted the following waiting period provided I book today:
Dzire petrol - one-and-half month
Dzire diesel - three months
What say?

Which place? DD Motors?
:Shockked: that's too much. I really can't say if it is the actual time or the hyped one?

Yup, it includes everything. Reg and road tax, smart car charges, parking charged mcd, automotive kit, hp charges, logistic chages, comp. incurance etc.

It was Magic Auto. The salesman said there are very few vehicles ready at the factory right now. My guess is Maruti wants to know how the clients have reacted to the launch and did not make too many in the beginning.

The waiting time may be for real, given that the Swift hatch diesel is still commanding a waiting period of at least two months.

Some one help with this rational of the price differences between the Hatch VDi and VXi and the sedan VDi and VXi.

The difference in the hatchs is just 63K, but in the sedans the difference has become 88K (all based on chennai prices - both ABS and non ABS prices).
Please note the VDi and VXi are identical twins expect for the engine. No excise cuts comes in play here.

That means the sedan makes more margin for maruti than the hatch?? They have not even given an option for ABS and airbags on the VDi/VXi. Thats idiotic. I hate this thing of projecting ABS/airbags as luxury. If its true, they are captalising on the dzire wave. I wont say its bad, they are in for business, Make hay when the sun shines..........

Well said, and congrates in advance for your 1000th post which will be done in another 4 posts. :)

I didnt knew that its not been an optional too. Infact ABS should be compulsary in every car.

After Budget Swift VDi price got reduced by 20K or so (Diesel Swift is small car. Petrol is not). VXi price was same. Dzire VDi and VXi do not qualify for this benefit. This explains the difference of 20K. Rest of 5K can be accounted for by tax imposed on higher amount of Dzire.

slightly off topic.. but weren't you talking about getting a Verna D, before? If I recollect correctly, you were totally towards Verna (Hyundai basically) tearing apart SX4 in every bit, and there were an upheavel battle of words between you and SX4 owners in orkut and mouthshut.. after all those, you are getting a SX4.. lol:

please ignore there is a mistaken case of identity. BTW, congrats on the new car. cheers:

I also seen the threads with the id name similar to this one on mouthshut, thrashing SX4 without any sensible points.

Though the Id looks similar, I think this person is different, as I've seen him supporting SX4 in TBHP in his previous posts.

Sorry. Again Off topic.

In the case of the sedan its a lakh difference and in the case of hatch its 75k difference.

any Test Drive Review for Dzire? Maruti people told me that everything is the same of Swift, nothing had been changed only the boot. But Dynamics do change by adding boot. What do you say guys?

Swift hatch vxi/vdi dont come with an integrated stereo. But dzire gives it in the vxi/vdi.I feel this is a major difference for the similar variants. And another difference is the fabrics used and integration of fabric on the door pads.

I was wondering that with the prices in of Dzire, Fabia is one car that shall be killed. Only a few with money for nothing may opt for it.

Ram, Could you please tell where the 24 ltr boot space go in ZDi and ZXi?

(LXI, VXi, LDi, VDi = Boot is 464 ltr but ZXi,ZDi = 440 ltr )

please:

does Zdi and ZXi has more leg room? I went ti BIMAL - Bangalore today, they have VDi for disply, so Sales Person was not able to answer this question

I just happened to be in a maruti showroom today and saw the dzire. It was not at all disappointing as I had thought it would be. Infact I found it pretty cute. Will be booking one tomorrow. And guess what . The sales guy told me that the waiting period is 20 days for the VXi variant and 2 months for the LXi and ZXi. Diesel - no clue. Have never owned that "dikki wali gaadi before" so the dzire is quite tempting to me for the price it comes at.
