Yes, the second car is the new Indica, albeit without the rear lights.

I have spotted the Suzuki Cervo test car near NH4-Dehu road turn off. It would be disappointing if its Tata's who are testing it !!

My take on this is that Tata are planning to do a Maruti, I guess they want to cover all price points - may be a smaller car between the Nano and the Indica (current one that is), since the Indica Evolution will be bigger and priced more,a new model on the current Indica platform downsized to fill the 3L price range.

May be we will get to to see the current Indica in a new avatar with just Indicabs remaining from the original platform.

it certainly looks similar, now we know where it got inspired from

1st pic is the Bajaj Lite, 2nd is the Suzuki MR Wagon. The rear light in both cars is very much similar!
Isnt it because Suzuki and Nissan have/ had some tie up in Japan - and Bajaj is working on this Nano competitor with Nissan ??? It just might be a 'shared design' ??

@Tata testing a Suzuki car - why would they do it ??
IMHO, its just that both cars were alloted these temp reg nos. And the similarity in numbers is because of some practice followed at ARAI.

[OUOTE] the car over all looked ugly to me[/quote]
Yup - very true ! But as they say : good designs turn to ugly ones after trying to comply with the pedestrian safety norms !

PS : Actually, i like the rear of the suzuki.

ram
Dont worry, I am sure that this MR Wagon is not being tested by Maruti, else they would have camo'd it. Look at the Tata car in perspective.

So Splash matter is completely separate from having spotted this one-off piece.

hriskesh, yes the rear is kinds nice but not the overall car.

Guys its a common practice by all auto majors to have competitors cars some of these might not even be present in the current market to study various aspects. This happens in both cars & bikes.

Even i feel the same,Why would maruti unnecessarily make this car when it is already crowded with small cars. It should be some competing company testing this car.
They had lesson learnt with the Zen classic some time back right.

It definitely makes more sense to wait for the A-Star or the Splash.

Or if the requirement is urgent, I would suggest the i10.

Yuk looks more ugly. the front light seems to be borrowed from Beetel. But gel with the body curves.
