Yes, I like this. They have joined the bandwagon. Sadly I dont have negative comments to tell about Honda anymore. They got what they needed, a kick in the right place to get their very efficient diesels.

Hope they get the best fuel to run this test car. They cried Indian diesel will affect their engines when all the major diesel engines were making hay in India.

Hope they convert the lower levels too. Imagine a diesel City, amazing value to kill Verna, SX4, Fiesta etc

So does this mean that, slowly, honda will remove the petrol CRV from the market?
The strategy is likely to be as follows:

--> CRV 2.0 Petrol - < 20L
--> CRV Diesel - ~ 24L

They will do away with the 2.4 petrol

No, nothing like that. Both, petrol and diesel have there own pros and cons and buyers take a call after evaluating them on their respective merits.

finally HONDA wakes up to the call of many! i think the CRV diesel would steal the show straight away from captiva and x-trail. even thought HONDA stands for quality and refinement i would reserve my comments about their diesel engine until after its launch........ lets face it this is their first stab at a diesel engine in india...... a lot can happen!!
cheers

24L for a Honda Diesel CRV is nothing but highway robbery. 4L difference between a petrol and diesel version is unheard of. Anyways, good news that Honda is finally entering the diesel stable and good news for people who have lot of moolah to buy this inflated priced diesel SUV.

We just saw the Diesel CRV spy pics and hence this thread. In the spy-pic, the CRV has UP registration. It was clearly mentioned as CTDI.

i dont understand why some manufacturers are so loath to make money. maruti took years to bring out a diesel. and when they did, look at the amount of demand they saw, they still dont provide us with a diesel gypsy.

same with honda. absolutely no diesels in their indian portfolio inspite of having brilliant honda diesels available abroad. are these manufacturers mad? or are they plain stupid!

sorry for the rant, but I get upset when diesel options are'nt available.

when my family was in the market for a soft roader/off roader, all we did was look at diesels, inspite of knowing that the CRV was the best option.
because.....THERE WAS NO DIESEL.

bring it on honda!
