That wasn't the point of my post. I was talking about how much more affordable (relatively) sportscar-like performance just became. Or will, after the EVO is launched at 30 lakhs.

Going by the curent scenario wherin people spend in lots to get the current rides souped up, there is definitely a niche crowd for the evo..after all its like a cult car right.take five and be there right behind a lambo...am ' lovin it :-)

Now all we need to do is sit back and wait for the STi Impreza to be launched.

I think AWD is perfect for Indian road conditions (rain, mud etc). Common Subaru, are you listening?

HM and sensible pricing never go hand in hand... HM will milk any agreement, in this case Mitsubishi... My Rs. 50 for a 30L price bracket.

Lancer today has become what it is because of HM, their mindset is of the Amby era and they should stick to just making Amby's.
Also, I see no point in HM trying to bring in the EVO since their A.S.S is pathetic and for people who do want it can import it.

The price of the car is for the power and there is hardly any place to use it, its all about the brag factor.

I getting jitters just thinking about getting an EVO repaired in a HM workshop.

They should seal the engine part so that workshop guys cant tamper it and Mitsu will do well to have a workshop exclusively for EVO series to save it from hammers used for Ambys and Pajeros.

I am absolutely sure that the technicians will be trained, perhaps HM will turn a new leaf with the launch of the new lancer and Evo. There is a really cool series of videos on Youtube about the Evo X engine et al....It's a training video, and is quite a nice view

Hopefully the tuners in the country will start offering upgrades and also look into the service bit.

Servicing maybe an issue... They would need at least 25+ workshops (one in each state capital). Now whether these are EVO workshops or just the current HM workshops that are upgraded remains to be seen.

Seems to be a fairly large investment in A.S.S for such a niche market unless HM intends to milk the owners dry with the servicing
and spare parts costs.

Any Thoughts ??

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is "HM"?

I tried searching, but the stupid search will not accept it because of word length or something like that.

One question,
The current Lancer was introduced around 1998(1996?) and almost 10years old. The new lancer was launched in 2006 under Cedia name tag. So, are there any chance that the normal lancer would be discontinued in near term? Any inputs?
