Let's go back in history: What's the cheapest price of Petrol/Diesel that you paid

With the prices of fuel hitting the roof, let's go back in history. what is the cheapest do we remember paying for petrol/diesel?

I remember paying ~Rs 8/L for petrol somewhere in 87/88 [Delhi] when I used to have my LUNA during school days. And believe me it pinched. 8/L for petrol pinched.. [remeber the 'chal meri luna' ad]

So what's the cheapest that we T-BHP'ians remember paying?

I remember having filled petrol in dads bike and the price was about 14/-Rs or so.The feeling was ecstatic when dad handed over the keys and asked me to fill fuel. Have come a long way since then.

when i started using the car in 1995 i used to fill up my fiat at Rs.12.50/- which indeed i used to even fill up half a litre that time for a small round in my area

ever wondered that time also fuel prices were killer and we were like my car does not give average...hehehehe nothing has changed since then except prices..still we look at the same issues which we used to utter 20yrs ago..man that does not mean I am old hehehehe i am not even in my 30s yet

I remember filling diesel for around Rs.10 while having a trip to Trivandrum in a Mahindra Commander taxi. The year may be between 1990-95

Absolutely....then also we used to try and squeeze every bit for milage. I remember that in school days, on my LUNA, me & friends used to stop it on steep declines and have it roll downhill -- that was our strategy in school to save petrol

i don't believe that. 87-88, petrol was around 20-25 per litre, ok probably around 18 per litre not lesser

We would sometimes blend in kerosene with our petrol to take our limited Rupee further. One trip to Madras on a BSA B31 on same strategy, and the exhaust bend pipe was glowing red in the night

Sir, I recall Rs 6 per litre and I think it was around '75 or '76. By the time I got my own bike in 1982, the price of petrol in Bangalore was Rs 8 a litre, yielding 10 litres on my monthly allowance of Rs 80. When that cost of gas rose to Rs 10/litre, it really hurt. Then we would wait for uncles to visit from out of town with cars bursting at the seams with fuel, and one little siphon later...
Even as late as 1988 it was only Rs 10 per litre. It's only in recent years that prices have gone north at frantic rate.
