I am against that. Fiat is cash strapped internationally. its hard to shell out money when you are making losses everywhere.

Fiat has been in the News in India with their Grande punto. Fiat says it was early with the palio. But thats why they sold palio in the initial periods. Hope they get grande punto before time too.

Otherwise they wont be able to make it big in India and reverse their profits

Presently they are not producing any cars. I read it in this month's Autocar India.

Fiat SPA is not supposed to be posting any profts yet. Yes they are in the right direction now but they are still making losses.

Maybe they will post profits in the Q-1 2006.

Devarshi, I remember reading that Fiat SPA did post profit due to good truck market and sharp reduction in Fiat auto losses. They are expecting Fiat Auto to return to profit in Q1 06.

Also thanks to the big $2 billion payment they got from GM. For NOT wanting a future association with them.

Nope. I believe, this was not a factor in Q3 05 operating profits.

What ever you say dude, Fiat has posted a sales figure of 1700 Lineas for month of Jan. So they are proving you wrong. I wont say they have reached the pinaccle. For that matter they still have so many things to improve upon.

I feel they have done a major improvement in one thing, Marketing and the result is evident. Even though people still are quite "scared" to buy a fiat, I can see people giving test drives on a regular basis, slowly but surely they are earning the trust of the people. By no means its a bad product, for that matter its a superb product. Its just a question of winning the trust back, which is not difficult but by no means impossible.

If they do it, well and good. I may buy actually buy a Fiat. I love the products, to looks, the feel, finish, (even the analog ODO on the current hatch). But frankly, am scared.
