Some colour looks good in any car like white, black, but these are common colours on the road. I like jazzy colours in small cars like Yellow in Zen/Palio, Purple in Palio, Cherry Red in Matiz.....but hates purple in Zen Estilo.
In sedans I prefers metalic finish like silver, golden shades, but hates maroon, red etc. I want to paint my Zen in Black with touches of orange in alloy wheels and a checker flag graphics on both side. Any suggestions??

Colors of Cars in India

Well, Call it collective psychology, media influence, female dominance in decision making or whatever.
We have some orientation towards particular colors of cars compared to other countries.
Here is my observation:
THe most popular color for any model car: Silver.
Followed by any shades of silver.
Then comes Gold... shades of gold - call it beige or with whatever the car manufacturer's peculiar color-name.
Followed by Gray and all shades of gray, from light to darkest..

The comes Red. If someone really wants to go for sporty color.
And next seems to be Black. For those who want Royal Look.

(I am not talking about White as a color, as it is default for govt cars and cabbies).

I am still wondering why the shades of blues and green shades, Yellows and Maroons, are not popular in India..

Invariably every other car I see is either Silver or Gold or Gray.. these 3 colors make up for about 80% of the population of cars on the road or on any parking lot.

My Observation folks. - Your views and Comments..?

(To dear Mods, I searched all threads, could not find myself any similar thread dicussing this topic. If there exists one, please merge this with that topic please.. Sorry for the invonvenience).

Uptill sometime 'gold' color was used by industrialists and people who were associated with the manufacturing business. White with fluttering flags by politicos and chamchaas and general public choose whatever they want or whichever is available then. However I loved the Red Palio and the Chevy SRV.
Also the Lancer SFXi in red looks good.

In my opinion White is often related to purity and cleanness... (disclosure:I am having White Shift).

Red is my shade. However the most popular colour would have to definitely be white.

Also, the maroon shades are a common sight.

I would say shades of white and silver, followed by shades of red and finally black is what I have seen on our roads.
