It is very difficult to nail this down.

Both black and white colors look great on different cars, but practically speaking these are very difficult to maintain.

Yellow is a very odd color, but the old generation Zen carried this color off superbly, in fact I loved Zen the most in this color.

Personally, I feel Swift looks best in Red!

And most other cars look great in silver/grey as they don't show dust very soon (plus this color is easier to maintain).

Green is again an odd color, but it looks great on Chevy Beat!

Yes, Red on a Scorpio is a big turn off. However, Red+Silver Mitubishi Pajero looks cool!

Best- Woodland brown on duster, black on rapid, Blue on vento and BMW.

Worst- Maroon and purple in XUV, Red on scorpio, Yellow on i10, green on santro and xylo and pink on estilo.

Jazz and Brio in Rallye Red and Urban Titanium
Conti in black.
Thar in any color but white.
Cruze in White/ Blue

Best: I've seen the Fiesta in what I think is called Squeeze green. Garish,but looks so good. Even in that deep blue that they have!

Worst: The Santro came in this ugly, faded yellow that was the color of egg yolk. Such a turn-off.

The colours that I love: Space Grey (BMW), Alpine White (BMW), Candy White (VW), Bright Red (MSIL), Cocktail Green (Chevrolet), SunBeam Beige (Fiat), Cappuccino Beige (Skoda)

The colours that I hate: Purple Fusion (MSIL), Moonbeam White (Aveo), Azure Grey (MSIL).

This is what comes to my mind. I know there are many more shades which I love or hate.

Certain colors suit some cars while others dont. It depends on the car!

Like: Oak Brown (Passat) Shadow Blue (Vento) and Candy White( Polo/Vento)

Dislike: Green in any car( Figo/ Beat/ Xylo)

Graphics that are added by some manufacturers are also part of the color scheme. I really think the graphics that MSIL adds to Alto look very cheesy and ugly.

This is another very subjective debate. Anyway my 2 cents:

Best :
- Black and white (Linea, Civic, Vento, Accord and almost all sedans)
- Steel-like silver grey (with pearl finish) of the new BMW 5-series. Never seen a more captivating + stunning color ever. BMW owners could elaborate on which shade that is. I actually followed that car for a few kms in traffic to get another glimpse of it.

- Red on hatchbacks (Swift, Punto, Polo)
- Blue on hatchbacks (Swift, i20, i10)

Worst :
- Gold. Never liked any variation of it whatsoever. It looks downright dirty like mud (subjective opinion, no offense meant)
- that annoying pink on Zen Estilo. Looks like someone included nailpolish when they were collecting the paint formula ingredients
- parrot Green - looks horrible on Santro, Figo and Palio. Reminds me of snakes and reptiles.
- red color on sedans. Looks clownish and spoils the entire 'refined' image. Eg : Red Rapid, Red Vento, Red Laura, etc look stupid. The only exceptions are Cedia, Octavia which actually carried it off well.

I think white colour looks good on most of the cars.
But, but, if asked to buy, i'll hesitate if its for smaller segment cars . Only reason :- taxi image. Now if we see , most of the cars which are used in taxi will be white, say indica, logan, etios. dezire etc. Most of these cars, they'll be having yellow board. People dont even go for green logans as they are used by Meru.

So, given a choice for actually buying, i would not go for white. Any other colour like sky blue, grey suits me depending on the car.

Worst colour : Black, White (again) when kept dirty. See it to believe it that how ugly the same Black or White car looks when not cleaned.
Others:
Very light cream/white of Wagon R, Light Silver Pink of Hyundai Getz (similar to CR-V, yuck), Golden Brown in Indica, golden colours, etc are out-standing (pun intended) colours.
