IS the SWIFT and FABIA the same car?

Really is there is shared platform for these two cars..they look so alike especially around the window frames and the A pillar.

Also i feel the water drain at the junction of the roof and doors are ?identical.

Maybe the water leak problem that the swift faces is due to the joint water drain and door shut line that the swift feature.

This is unlike in most modern car, please correct me if i am wrong.

No way! Fabia is a much bigger car than the Swift in terms of length and wheelbase.

And what is this "water leak problem" in the Swift?

Well i did read in one of the long term ownership reports(dont remember the poster) that there was an issue of water collecting in the driver floor board when the car was left overnight during heavy rains.
The owner apparently traced the problem to a small cleft in the beading which was promptly refused by the A.S.C guys.

Aso, guys is this the water drain for the roof?

i have heard that if water leaks in from the inside of the wind shield (during sunfilm installation) the AC stops working coz water enters some chip or wiring ... this i hear is a design flaw in the desire model.
a friend in a garage told me so . dont know weather this is true or not ..

yes would like to hear from swift owners if the 'weather' is really a factor..

I guess the design house was initially inspired by the BMW mini cooper. All of them look so similar.

At least in my Swift D there is no water leakage. I have even taken my car when the Hossur Road was flooded last year and water didn't enter the car.

Swift and Fabia are totally different cars even from the heart (Engine is 3 pot in fabia while it is 4 Pots in Swift) down to shoes (The wheel dimensions are totally different).

Guys, get back to topic.
I feel the same too. There is just too much in common, only the fabia certainly has a much better rear. I dont know about the bigger part, they look like the same size to me.

Both the cars are different in their own ways. Due to the design similarities, one may mistake them for it to be from a similar platform or so.

But those who think the Fabia is way bigger than the Swift has to rethink and do a proper comparison. The Fabia definitely gives an impression of being very big in first glance.

I too have same question in mind. Most people (aam junta) mistake FABIA, for new swift sort of something. By the way I have a question, though both looks same, which one looks better ? only looks. What say guys ?

IMHO, Fabia. Well proportioned compared to swift.

'Inspiration' is the diplomatic word. The correct word is 'copy'.

I'm perhaps getting too softened with age :-)
But then when the available options for us are imitations, (mini is being dropped as an option), its better to call an imitation an inspiration.
