What makes them to do so? Their dealership and service network is the best in India.
I hope this is something should be done by Fiat!

These proposed stores do not sell products, but promote them. So, better chances of getting proper TD, and some true info about the new generation features on the vehicle (which most dealers fail to provide)

The aim is to give all the information and experience of exclusive Maruti products. These will be similar to the Motorola and Nokia exclusive showrooms mushrooming around.

Thats right. Fiat need a huge image makeover. Products are really good no doubt, but the buyer perception matters a lot. With plans like Linea and Punto, they need to get their act together and do something like this.

Yes, I was associated with the chennai plaza sometime ago, but they retail and also service just like any other dealership. I think Maruti also needs to expand into sales like their company owned service network, MSM.

I think rather than dealership, every manufacturer should have company owned service center in at least major cities

Great initiative by Maruti Suzuki. Imagine buying a car straight from the company and getting it serviced by them. In such a scenario, image and service would come before profits, unlike dealers.

Yup, that is why HMP in Delhi which is a company-owned, company-operated dealership does fabulous business. At times their appointment list for service stretches to 1.5 months!!

But yes, they do offer top-quality worksmanship & replacement of even major parts under warranty without any questions asked unless it's a suspicious case. And being the regional office, usually all parts for all their cars are available with them in stock.

P.S. Wasn't Service Masters also a Maruti owned/operated workshop initiative? Radhika, you have any info on this?
