Are these good prices for Tata\Fiat vehicles? Corporate Offer Prices

Folks,
Tata employees are getting the following rates for buying the below Tata vehicles.

Model === Exclusive Corporate Discount(Rs.) === Indicative Starting Price (Rs.) (Ex showroom Delhi)

Fiat Palio Stile-1.1 === 28,000/- === 3.43 Lakhs
Fiat Palio MultiJet === 4,000/- === 4.38 Lakhs
Indica-DLS/Turbo/Dicor === 28,000/- === 3.20 Lakhs
Indica XETA === 33,000/- === 2.55 Lakhs
Indigo Tdi/Petrol === 35,000/- === 4.70 Lakhs
Indigo XL Classic / Grand === 35,000/- === 5.42 Lakhs
Indigo-CS === 8,000/- === 3.70 Lakhs
Safari DICOR === 10,000/- === 7.40 Lakhs
Sumo Grande === 10,000/- === 6.55 Lakhs

Do you think any of the below are good discounts or are they just gimmicks?

I don't understand why you call a discount a 'gimmick'.. Even if its 100 Rs, a discount is a discount and it saves you valuable cash.

Moreover, Tata has a pan India dealer policy and the discount rates are decided at the headquarters for corporates. So a set of elite corporates graded A (30 companies) get the max discount, graded B get slightly lesser and so on.. A personal buyer gets the least..

Grade A corporates include Tata themselves and afaik for Indica Turbo 28,000 is the right figure. Its 26,000 for grade B and 24,000 for grade C. Individual buyers get 20,000 discount.

You can get more discounts only if you escalate the purchase all the way to the top management of a dealer and Tata punishes the dealers who have a lot of exceptions to the above policy.

Dealer discount for customers is 15 K + 5 K corporate disclount on the Safari- so that is more than what TM is offering its own employees!!

Of course, they should be good discounts. All companies offer their employees certain discounts.

I think the above mentioned figures are possibly real.

I am sure that it was just an oversight. But I have heard it is Tata group's policy to offer discounts on their products to all their employees even if it ia a product from a sister company. This included telephone connections, watches etc.

You are free to avail the discount or reject it. They have even maintained these for institutions which they were involved with earlier. I know this since when I was in IISc, Bangalore they had given discounts on Tata Indicom connections as a good-will gesture from day one of the launch. They also had similar discounts on other products which were fast moving in the market.

The discounts on their cars is not an exception but inline with their long standing policies. Hence IMO it is a gesture to be appreciated.

This is exactly what I was thinking!

And discounts to employees - why would we think of them as "gimmicks", they are definitely for real?

Expect more discounts, esp on the hatch, as X1 makes its way into the Tata stable.

Are these offers exclusive of the discounts currently going on? In Pune the discount for individuals for Indica/Indigo is 20K.

Would someone be able to clarify to me on what basis these corp discounts work? Does the car co sales guy talk to the company and get some commitment on sales etc?

Or it just randomly given to any corporate? If the latter, why is such a discount given only to corporate employees and not for the general public?

I believe you cannot add on, any other ongoing offers to these discounts.

Thats bcoz, in a corporate environment, there are 100 to 1000 employees working with them. If you give them a discounted offer to a product, you are assured you get a good no. of ppl buying it at a time while if this is place in a public, you would find 1 person in a 20 ppl who wd be interested to buy the product and you are not sure how long it will take to cover the sales target!

Best common Example is the Mobile Service Provider offers Corporate SIM cards to some companies which has call rates as low as 15p for outgoin and a monthly rental of 50 or less!!

Its always a Diwali/Christmas time when you have a corporate offers...never miss such opportunities

Nothing to Lose~

Cheers~

Beleive me, dont show your id first,dont even mention involvement with a Tata company, get the actual discount figure. Compare with whats on this list. You may try to pull a fast one, by mentioning then that you want additional "Tata" discount on it.
