But the fact is that TATA are the real professionals and we are just enthusiasts. Do you agree? Being a economy car manufacturer, they have to look at many things before making a decision. Market research and past experiences dictate the current product placement and design and they have access to all that and we dont, right? Quote:

IMO, the bolded part is the single main reason why the All new Indica looks exactly like the current indica. The current Indica will *not* be discontinued. It will sell side by side with the newest Indica. But selling a older model along with a newer model is not possible unless the newer model looks almost same as older one. IIRC (and I am not sure here) Hyundai Sonata is an example, the embrera which is radically different and much better than the older sonata failed to sell as expected. In India, customers really do not care for the mechanicals underneath(except for Bhpians) as long as the price is attractive.
This strategy is completely opposite to the German car makers where the new sheet metal is released first and the the engines and transmission change a year later. Expect a completely redesigned Indica in 2 years time which would coincide with a discontinuation of Current gen indica. |
