This might be nano-specific version of the airbag. Will it be suitable for cars that can run at twice of nano's top speed ?

But anyway... a good move.

perhaps by 'simpler' he means a basic setup with lesser number of components, sensors.

If it can be done, it'll have to be the Indians or the Chinese.
The Chinese do not have a Nano programme.

Totally laudable move by Tata!

Hats off to Tatas. And why cant the global giants like Toyota/Honda/Maruti/Hyundai/Skoda provide an airbag on every car if it costs just 6000 bucks? How much money do they want to make?

We had an article entailing details of all the part suppliers for the nano.

Tata is continuing on that path, seems they have developed this knack of giving innovation after innovation, booking patents after patent.

Design, then outsource thats the key for them.

I loathed the idea of tiny nano's on the roads, comparing them to auto's.

Today, i see the other side to it.
Tata making somehting thats going to be more historic then the Ford model T best thing its Indian.

Pary to God for not opening $10 AirBags on bumps in India.
Tata do provide a lot but they tests everything at the cost of customer.

Nothing is free in the world. You pay less and spent more on maintainence...
