And would come back to haunt Honda for replacing the 1.8S with the 1.8E

True; all of a sudden Sundaram Honda in Chennai turned quite sales oriented and started calling me thrice in the last couple of weeks for a TD that i took 2 months back
Let us hope for an early launch of G3HC

Not really, Companies make more money on their topend variants. So, if a customer chooses a topend Honda City(over an entry level 1.8 E), then it is not bad profit at all for the company. A customer, who has more money and wanting a Honda Badge, chooses the Civic 1.8 V, then Honda goes laughing to the bank again. If the customer, having a little less money, but is still besotted by the Civic looks and the Honda badge chooses the Civic 1.8 E, Honda is grinning again. The City will be a big threat to Altis and Jetta.

Except for maybe some style statement is there any utility in those?

Sorry I think I have gone

I really sympathise on this one; Anything that makes what one is about to do more obvious to drivers around should be a good thing, but indicators are generally ignored, especially by bikers who think they should overtake just as you turn --- so what's the point?

Sad...

Reasonable guess specs are out !!!

There will be three models: S, V, and SV. The S will have a MT and AT version, while the V will have a standard version, and one with dual airbags. The top spec SV will come fully loaded.

Pricing should start in the low THB 500,000 (Rs 6.5L) range, and end just short of THB 700,000 (Rs 9L) for the SV model. cheers:

i think for India instead of 1 MT & 4 AT it will be 3 MT & 2 AT, other things remaining the same.

Yup one should be normal automatic and other paddle shift .Nice find Diabloo !
Paddle Shift should sell well . 1.5 S MT would obviously be the main seller. So no 1.3 VTEC as expected earlier .

The rear almost looks like a notchback like the Octavia and the Accent Viva. Overall, looks very promising. If they can price it right, it will sweep the Indian markets who love the Honda badge anyway.

Do you think it would at these price range for us, no. It will more like the lower version in India costs same as the higher version in Thai.

I disagree. I think Honda will launch only the paddle shift variant in automatic trim to keep costs down - the way they're selling the current Civic in India.

Kindly go through the specs provided by Diabloo !! The paddle shift is the top end version which is fully loaded so there is nothing about cost cutting. Like Hackett , i was guessing the versions from the specs provided .
