Maybe they could name it as Citivic

I am not sure if this strategy's gonna work. The low end Next Gen Honda wont have the features of the City top-end.. and the low end NGH will encroach into the Civic category. So maybe for a potential customer it will be a case of inky-pinky-ponkey

i agree they should have continued to sell the older models also. Infact in case in the OHC i guess they would have made a lot more money.

Is this report trustworthy?

I wouldn't trust TOI or ET on a launch date or the list of features. The news so far has been that the launch is in November.

Only thing I trust in the article is that Honda has denied the report They do it always. They did it when there was speculation in ACI that NHC would come with airbags, etc. and launched such a car a couple of months later.

Paddle Shift & Curtain Airbag, it is going to cost as much as Corolla.

They just introduced ABS & Frontal Airbag in Ciry, because of competition.

Do Civic topend has Curtain Airbag?

The report has excited a lot of us. Its a good idea to retain the existing model so that budget seekers can taste Honda quality at a lower cost by not losing too much. (Good news for me)

The new car will greatly reduce the gap between the City and Civic and is likely to eat the Altis raw if offered on a great price.

But most of the features mentioned in the report are on the Jazz website which makes me doubtful if we will get the same package in India. Also no mention about the 1.3 VTEC which was touted to be made standard across all Hondas.

Why would honda replace a car when the sales are huge. They will bring this vehicle between City & Civic. Once City sales goes low then they will reduce the price of the new city. At that time Honda would have already gained a huge profit.

Very interesting strategy. Honda should stop the Gen2 VTEC and CVT versions and drop the price on the base car to undercut the SX4s, Fiestas and Aveos etc.

The Gen3 should be VTEC only and not exceed the psychological 10 lakh barrier.

I really doubt this would happen. Dint they replace the OHC (Selling well at that time) with the NHC?

Dear All, will the newer HC replace the older model completely or will it be sold along side the older model? Need some advice as one of my relatives wants to know that.

The whole thread and the link in the thread (ET website) says that both will be available in parallel.
But as we have seen in the past, nothing is 100% sure until it happens.
