I believe I saw the automatic with the new engine. There is a new badge near the front side fender saying 'Kappa' instead of the 'irde' now. There is also a badge in the rear that says 1.2 for showing the new engine size.

Also the pricing was not revealed to me as they yet to be officially released. But VFM is what the executive was saying to me.

Also there is one more variant called Sports, where it features a red interior, i.e the seats and certain areas of the dash are colored red. Looked kind of gaudy to me.

I am not sure whether I saw ABS in Sports/Asta model I saw, but it could be a stripped down version I may have seen.

But one thing is sure i10 1.2 is coming, that is for sure. No more speculation on that.

@Anand thanks for the info. Yeah Sports will be the top end version of the i10. I think Magna ,another version above Magna , Sports will all sport the 1.2 Kappa engine.

As expected, 1.2 engine would be available only in top variants like magna, sportz & asta.

Time to edit thread title?

80 PS from a 1.2 is pretty impressive....should be a good car to drive. hope they give it better tyres though!

Also, this engine would be a good bet for the Getz to replace the 1.1....it would still get all teh tax breaks and would be at par with the 1.3 in terms of performance.

I think the engine wont be making 80PS, but rather 77bhp / 78.1PS.

Agree with you on the tyres part. I hope it is not undertyred, and it will wear boots that can take the full advantage of the increased power/torque.

Why do you say so? The article mentions the figures as

Quote:
The aluminium block, first in its segment Double Overhead Cam Shaft (DOHC), 16 valve with 32 bit microprocessor Kappa engine delivers a class leading 80PS/5200rpm and 11.4Kgm/4000rpm torque which results in excellent driveability both in city as well as on the highway. The engine is Euro 5 ready and emits only 119g/km of CO2 which is the lowest for this class of cars, the company said.
These look really good for a car of this size besides would help the Getz too.

features updated on website, Awaiting prices

HYUNDAI MOTOR INDIA - Hyundai i10

The i10 1.2 features have been updated on hyundai website

Automatic comes with Magna, Spotz and ASTA.

Bad part is that ABS and airbags are available only on ASTA now.

If you want 1.2 automatic with ABS and airbags you also need to get the Sunroof option.

I wish they had ABS and airbags as options on Magna and Spotz also

This is great news, a 1.2 engine with auto transmission, now only if they price it right, this will be a real keeper. Hoping to hear about the pricing soon. I guess around 6-6.5 L would be brilliant for us consumers

Really? you get good Sedans at 6.5L!

ok, on second look - guess you are mentioning a fully loaded auto. i am not so sure - i still think it should be under 6L
