Thats great news to hear that Shell prices at 79.70. Last heard the prices were around 81.70. Also checked the PSU prices but got a link only for IOC at 79.61 in Blr.

Now it makes real sense to fill up at Shell till the prices last. Need to tank up this weekend for a long trip and will do that in the Bannerghatta road bunk before hitting the highway.

Crude has fallen 15% in this month alone.
It was doing a 113$ per barrel
Now its at 100$ per barrel.
Its a 12% decrease

So, with the highest price of petrol that reached 82Re, should it not be 72 now?
The rupee-dollar has remained the same for some time now.

Even if you factor that out, we should still not be paying more than 73/74 per liter [Bangalore]

This goes to show that Shell is pricing its gasoline in tandem with the international crude oil prices. Today the Brent crude is at $ 98.75 to a barrel down by $1.78. Wonder when our Indian OMCs will follow suit for the so called deregulated fuel i.e. petrol.

Filled up at Shell few days back @79.70 /l :-) No difference to PSU pricing.
At this price, Shell unleaded is the juice to use for my car!

Chennai price for Normal Unleaded Petrol is 76.80, Rs. 1.30 more than the PSU prices

Shell normal is 78.80 in Hyderabad. Reduced by Rs 2 from last night. Also, Essar is priced at Rs 78.12.

Tanked up today for Rs 77.70 per litre. Finally Shell is actually competing with PSU petrol bunks. In the past one got an impression they were playing it too safe and always pricing their petrol around the PSU rates even when they could actually cut prices.

Any idea what the Octane rating of Shell Premium petrol is? Is it on par with the premium fuel of PSU's or is it higher/lower? Also what is the octane rating of their regular petrol.
Sorry for sounding dumb, but I was just curious as I have never given Octane rating a thought.

Diesel has become a little cheaper i guess. Filled this weekend & it cost me Rs.62.10 per litre whereas about 2 weeks back it was 64.10. This from the Shell pump on the Pune Mumbai highway opposite to the Europa Showroom near Wakad.

Crude oil price is again shooting up. We may see some increase in Shell petrol price.
