That is another good news then. In case Shell Regular petrol to be available in chennai, then it should cost around 50Rs.

Shell increased the price of Shell Super petrol (premium) by Rs 1.50.
It now costs Rs 56.45 in Bangalore where as Shell regular petrol is priced at 52.45

Why the sudden increase ? Beats me. Probably they want to keep the differential in prices ?

Shell Prices

Hi

I have a doubt here.
With international prices around $35-$38 a barrel, the indian oil cos still make some Rs.4/- profit on petrol. This they achieve even after all the taxes by the government.

Is the same kind of taxes applicable to private players like Shell and Reliance?

If not then at the current oil prices shouldn't the prices of Shell be still lower like somewhere around Rs.40/litre, because when the oil prices was at its peak Shell used to cost around Rs.70/litre right?

Correct me if i am wrong.

Slightly off-topic: With the PSU pumps going dry sooner or later (because of the strike), are Shell pumps stocked well enough. I am reaching Bangalore this evening and have planned for a Ooty drive tomorrow morning along with a friend. I hope Shell pumps are carrying enough fuel. Any idea?

I think Shell premium petrol price was a bit higher yesterday than it was a few weeks back. Something like 56.xx per litre. I remember it was 55.XX earlier. Not sure if they hiked it this week cashing in on the opportunity.

I think they should have the stock as I had witnessed quite a long queue @ the Shell bunk near Iskon going towards Yehswanthpur railway station. While other bunks are slumbering, I think Shell bunks are open but not sure how long will they continue as those are the only ones filling the city vehicles period.

Any idea about the whitefield or the hosur road bunks? as I stay in between and would like to tank up given the circumstancesand situation.

The Shell bunk near SAP has petrol and they are dishing out normal petrol at the rates which someone has mentioned above. A colleague of mine just went and filled petrol in his bike and returned. He mentioned there is a huge queue of vehicles which you would need to put up with.
