The shell chart shows Pune (PCMC) petrol to be 76.55 while IOC is retailing at 74.48. This is quite a difference. I wonder if it has anything to do with the recently introduced LBT. Shell might have implemented it while the others may have not yet, since they are protesting this tax

There are various cards (both debit & credit) that waive off fuel surcharge. For eg. I use the HDFC Platinum Plus Credit card & HDFC Titanium Debit card & both these waive off surcharge on all fuel purchases above Rs.400. If the EDC machine that the card is swiped on is from a different bank then there is a very small amount of the surcharge that is not reversed.

Every bank offers cards with these facilities. Just browse their websites for more details. Paying for fuel with a card is so much easier instead of carrying so much cash.

Odd, but I found Shell diesel at Rajkot priced at Rs,63.xx on 28 March - other OMC prices of diesel were in the range of Rs.54.xx.

Slightly off-topic: It is rather strange that in a continent like Europe there are no boundaries across countries, but in India, we have different tax structures and thereby pricing across states. To add insult to injury, we have certain states charging "entry tax" to vehicles entering those states. I cannot figure out whether the states are independent or not our what sort of a Federal structure we have! I think it is high time we became citizens of the states than the country!

Normal petrol at Shell, Hinjewadi is now at Rs. 72.45/litre. I tanked up last night from there. Is this lower or equal to the rates in the city?

With the petrol prices dropping by another 3 Rupees anyone has any idea whats the Shell unleded petrol price will be now in Bangalore?

Last i filled up at Shell was 3 days back and it seemed to be cheaper than HP. Wanted to ensure if it is still the case to get my other car filled.

Shell BS4 Regular unleaded is Rs. 68.90 as seen at the Jakkur pump on Bellary road today morning.

Correct, similarly I just filled-up at Shell Old madras road @ 68.9/Litre for regular unleaded petrol

Shell diesel is priced at 57.50 as of yesterday. If the crude price goes down further expect this to match up with the IOCL, HPCL and BPCL. The gap currently stands at Rs. 4.40/-

There is a remarkable difference in refinement with the Shell diesel vs BPCL in the last refuel.

INR 68.90 refers to unleaded BSIV petrol and INR 57.50 is Diesel
