However if you check the shell price link you will notice that there are three petrol rates for Bangalore (Euro 2, 3, 4). If Whitefield is mentioned out side Bangalore city then the difference may be due to the same.
Now this gets interesting !
I am a Shell Loyalist at the Siddapura Outlet (near Varthur), Bangalore.

Last week, I tanked up with the Rs.79.50/l petrol, which according to Shell, translates to Euro III-A.
Is this good for my car ? I own a Chevrolet Beat - 2011 model, which IIRC, is a BS IV car.
Does a Euro III fuel go well with a BS IV car ?

I am a little worried now.

Mine is the other way. Car is BS III and fuel BS IV.

However the difference between the fuel I guess is in the quantity of sulphur, guess theoretically it should make an issue with lubrication in engine. More details about the same.

Well, yesterday evening, I got normal petrol from the same bunk.
I had to ask twice to confirm and they said: Yes it is available.

I tanked up the two wheeler for Rs. 400. I think the rate was Rs. 84.05, but I don't remember now.

I have no idea why it got jammed so badly.

The last oil change was done as a part of the paid service at Hyundai Motor Plaza, Ekkaduthangal, just less than one year (or ~ 6500 km) ago.
Have you got the filter changed at Hyundai? If not get it done ASAP.

Does one have to drain the oil to get access to oil filter in i10?

Not yet. Plan to do it this weekend, as I want to be physically present - just to ensure everything goes smoothly without further complications. Patience and a technical method is the key, brute force would damage something.

No, it's not necessary to drain the old oil to get access to the filter.

The oil can be drained by unscrewing the drain plug.

The filter is in a different place. It can be accessed directly. Since everything in the engine bay is a tight fit, one can also remove a flat plastic panel on the underbody to get better access to the filter, if one wants.

Is the gachibowli, raidurgam outlet closed or sealed? Any other outlets in that area or kukatpally.

Shell price for petrol in Chennai day before yesterday was 77.20/litre. And there was a banner at bunk saying the rate was decreased by ₹1. Still that means price between Bangalore and Chennai rates is only ₹ 1.10, I remember it used to be above that. Not sure why the rate difference is less now days.

Thanks for correcting the typo - yes it is 78.30 not 77.30.

re: Shell in India (fuel, lubes, outlets)

The fuel lid of my car (a 2011 Honda City VAT) states 91 octane only.
Now, I am bad with fuel. What is 91 Octane petrol?
I generally play safe and fill the Shell fuel which is priced at Rs 84 per liter.
However, when I go to Madikeri, I have no choice but to fill the regular HP petrol for Rs 78-79.
Which of these should I be filling as per the 91 octane requirement?

Regards,
-Rohan

^^ What you get in any bunk is 91 octane fuel. The only high octane fuel available is Speed 97 from BP.

re: Shell in India (fuel, lubes, outlets)

I had filled from Shell, Bannerghatta road yesterday for 77.65/litre.

They also had signs of a "promotion", where you get a free Pepsi can on fueling for a minimum of Rs. 500 of Shell Super.
