No. Here only the price of Shell Diesel has gone up. Petrol prices are unchanged.

The prices in Hyderabad were increased almost two weeks back. (The tricks & antics of the PSU pumps have kept me away from them even after the price increase)

The highest retail price of Shell in India is at Hyderabad!

How much is it in Hyderabad?

Here super unleaded is Rs 52.20. Not sure of normal unleaded, may be Rs 50.85 I think. But ther was no recent increase in price, except for Diesel.

In Hyderabad, Shell unleaded petrol is 53.10 & Shell Super is 56.xx
This price increase happened some 3-4 weeks back before which, unleaded petrol was available at 51.10 and super at 53.xx

May be one explanation could be they source the fuel from Chennai Petroleum and transport it to Hyderabad, hence price is higher?

Thanks Fortuner71 for the update as I intend to stick to Shell's normal unleaded petrol for sometime to come. Engine is noticeable smoother with it.

Nazim, one of the relatively better PSU pump in this part of town is teh IOC COCO before Motorola at hi-tec city. I have not got petrol from them yet, but used to regularly get diesel for the safari from there and the car used to run pretty well compared to diesel from any other bunk in hyd. I plan to try them out fo rmy next refill.

I prefer normal too. Not been very impressed with super unleaded lately. QC seems to be doing a shabby job these days.

Today I filled petrol at the shell outlet near lalbagh. It was 50.95 for shell normal. The attendant told me shell normal is up by 30p and shell super by 20p.

Now the price in Chennai is Rs 52.95 for unleaded and Rs 54.95 for super unleaded. I am beginning to have misgivings now. May be I should revert to the "very good" PSU bunks I was patronizing earlier!

This one does not sell normal unleaded petrol. Only premium is available and I prefer only unleaded for my car.

ok, that does it....I am off Shell for now...any pointers towards a good truted pump that sells normal unleaded in Gachibowli, Kondapur, Bajara Hills, Jubillee Hills etc
