Anybody knows the current petrol prices at Shell?
Rs.59.90 for normal petrol.
I was regular in shell all these days but due to this huge price hike, i decided to try Speed in BP which is Rs.56.80.

THAT is the classic problem i am facing. Go to another PSU pump, which one is reliable?? Shell is reliable in terms of quality and quantity
I filled normal shell and got FE of 10.5, filled HP normal and got down to 9.5
Now if i fill 40 liters
Shell now is 59.10, cost = 2370.00 and FE = 10.5 means i get 420Kms
Now with HP, 54.60 is the cost, total = 2184.00, FE = 9.5 and i get 380 kms
This means i lose out on 40 kms, and for that i need to fill 4 liters more of HP, so end up paying 220 rs
The extra cost paid for shell is about 200 rs!!!! Is it worth to pay less initially but end paying the same?? I guess we suffer from the herd mentality at times and do not realize the long term impact on the cost.
Have tried BP Speed, let me see the results.

Just did a trip to Bombay yesterday. Drove the Octy 1.9TDi.
Thought, its been quite some time since I've used shell in the Octy.

Filled diesel @ Rs. 45.25 / L .
(Sadly this Shell station on Bombay Bangalore highway has been included in the Octori Limit. Hence the price rise.)

When going to Bombay, I usually fill up at the HP station on the expressway (& outside Octori), @ Rs. 38 / L or @Rs. 40 /L for Turbo Diesel.

But let me share my experience with you with Shell.
The car got a lot smoother, neat pickup, good FE (5L/100K) at speeds of 120kmph!
I usually get an FE of 6L/100K with Turbo Diesel @ speeds of 120kmph.

Day before yesterday, I went into the Shell fuel pump in Raj Bhavan Road, Hyderabad and to my horror the filling guy told me that Diesel was Rs 49.50/L . I immediately told him thank you and went of to my regular BP (Rs39.17/L ) I wonder how many people are filling up from Shell given this kind of price disparity.

I agree 100%... I'm facing this with my Swift, a Rs. 500/- fill on PSU or Shell runs me for 100 KMS, the 8% premium on cost is matched by an equal KMPL. Not to mention the better acceleration and piece of mind.

All you need to see what is your Rs./ Km whichever place you fill. I stopped filling from Shell as for my City Driving the Mileage was not increasing much but the Rs./Km was . So switched over to BP completely and have been happy since.

Should be upwards of Rs. 63 for Shell regular, but first check whether that Shell outlet is operational or not. Few shell outlets in pune city limits have closed down.

Oil prices can boil and can touch ,exceed 3 digit figures as per Reliance chief, this is bad for all of us. Now its time to move towards alternative fuels.

Oil prices to zoom soon: Mukesh Ambani: Rediff.com Business

ARGH!!

63!! EXPENSIVE!!

I got tired of the low milage form PSU bunk fuel and finally filled in Shell after 3-4 months!

Regular fuel is 59.50 in Bangalore!

the math sort of works. If i get 1km more per liter it works inspite of filling less fuel

The shell outlet on Pune-Satara Road (near Khed Shivapur) has been shut since the last 1.5 months.

The ones operational (that I am aware of) are:

1. Hinjewadi (outside octroi limit - good buy)
2. Mumbai - Bangalore by-pass (Within Octroi limit)
3. Pune-Mulshi Road (outside octroi limit)
4. Pune-Satara Road (Shut - temporary or permanent ?)

Please feel free to add to the list as we all can benefit.

Rs 63.25/litre for super unleaded. About Rs 1.50 less for normal unleaded, I guess.

47.95 Rs a liter or normal diesel.
Guys now I am seriously thinking of switching over to normal diesel from a company owned Fuel outlet.

Have already done that. ~10 bucks difference for a liter is too much of a asking premium!
