Closed down permanently. Something else is coming up at the site. The site is barricaded with huge aluminium sheets like the ones in constructions sites.I heard the one in Kankanady is also closed.

Shell will really need to rethink its India strategy. In a country where petrol as a business model is high volume and low margin, it will become impossible for them to survive asking premium for a commodity which has difficulty in differentiating.

Crude is at $90, PSU are going to hike by Rs 2.00, looks like we are in for tough times again as fuel prices are just going north!

Declining standards of Shell service :(

I never thought this day would come, but looks like even the standards at Shell have started slipping.

This is my unfortunate experience at the Lavelle Road bunk. I have been noticing the gradual decline in the service levels of the employees over the past few months :

- namasthe greeting - done away with & replaced with a grumpy look
- comp windscreen wash - what's that ?

After filling fuel in my car, i was waiting at the spot where the air is topped up, waited for 5 minutes, no one came. Honked once, twice, yet no response. A guy who was writing down some details from the filling station, pretended not to notice me & looked the other way.

Waited a futher few minutes, another guy comes up to me, tells me, its raining & they will not top up the air. I'm like, whats the problem, since it was just a light drizzle ? The guy replies back that he will not.
This was getting on my nerves, I said OK, should i complain to the manager, and he's like, "do whatever you want" (Entire conversation in kannada)

This was the most shocking part, i just could not believe a person working in Shell would speak like this to a customer who comes to the station to buy a premium product ! I'll be shooting off a mail to Shell about this today.

Disgusting experience, especially since we fill all our cars at this station regularly, inspite of the diesel costing a bomb !

The quality of service is inversely proportional to the number of customers. With PSU prices and Shell price on similar levels for petrol, Shell pumps are doing more business than most PSU pumps. From the day the price decontrol happened, the quality of service has been steadily declining.

At nirmaljusdoit

The exact same thing has happened to me at the same bunk. But in my case it wasn't even raining. When I asked them for air I was told that the air pump is broken.

It's gone up again. Not 'Shell Price' exclusively but BPCL and IOC have hiked petrol by Rs. 3

Fuel Prices to go high again

NEW DELHI: A hike of Re 1-2 per litre in petrol prices is on cards this week following international crude oil prices touching USD 90 per barrel mark.

"We would have raised petrol price yesterday ... we had the oil ministry consent to hike prices by Rs 1.90-1.95 per litre immediately after the winter session of Parliament ended yesterday, but at the last moment we are asked to wait for one or two more days," an official of IndianOil (IOC), the nation's largest fuel retailer, said.

IOC and other state retailers Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) are losing Rs 4.17 per litre on selling petrol as raw material (crude oil) cost has climbed to USD 90 per barrel.

BPCL hikes petrol prices by Rs 2.96 per litre from midnight - The Times of India

As of now, only BPCL has announced a Rs. 2.96/- hike, IOCL has not announced the quantum yet.

@ raghu : Delhi is lucky with a Rs. 2 hike, its 3 here in Bangalore!
