Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Dropped in at Shell, Varthur rd today. 71.35/- for normal petrol.

There was quite a rush and lack of personnel.

After some 10min, my car was up for fuel; after all the pleasantaries, told the guy, 1500 normal petrol. He punches in the numbers and goes to fill the car on the same pillar but on the other side. The fuel is filling for quite some time and as I keep a look, crosses 1500 and still going strong.

I shout and find the guy, who's busy attending to someone else. Finally someone points him to me and he comes running. He stops the dispenser. Says "sorry, I put in 1500 litres". By then, another chap had already billed 1500 on my credit card. So, i had to send him again for the balance 610. The guy said, "sorry sir, this is happening only the 2nd time". I said it shouldn't happen at all. Meek smile.

The manager came, all he could say was "staff shortage". Nothing more to be done. Will drop Shell an email.

I don't think I'm very fond of Shell anymore.

It's a small mistake. Can happen anywhere.

I agree. Not an issue, if you have no complaints about the quantity or quality of fuel dispensed. In many PSU bunks we will be billed Rs 2100 while the fuel would have been dispensed for Rs 1500!

Ever heard of sarcasm, Sir?

All I did was point out the lapse, suggest they do something about managing the crowd, pay for the extra fuel and leave.

Is there a mistake here? Because I tanked up Shell Super for my car on 10th and bike yesterday @ Rs 71.55. Normal is Rs 69.05. B'lore Shell prices (not PSU) will be cheaper than Chennai.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Shell Diesel is cheaper by a rupee at Pune and is Rs.53.45. So over the last month and half the price of Diesel has come down by Rs.9 at Shell.

Normal Petrol continues to be sold at Rs.67.50.

Amit Bhai!
Thanks you very much for the update. The shell advantage begins.
Just a few questions:
1. Is the above price related to normal diesel or super diesel?
2. The bunk you are referring to, is it HJW one or Bangalore Highway one?

1 - The above is for normal Diesel. Shell only has one type of Diesel, atleast at the HJW bunk

2 - The above price is at HJW Bunk. Same should be the price on the Bangalore Highway as it also outside Pune city limits. I am assuming you are referring to the one after Wakad junction towards Mumbai.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Price of Shell regular unleaded petrol at Hyderabad is Rs. 73.70 per litre. PSU price is somewhere around 70.75, I guess. Wonder why Shell petrol is not cheaper than PSU's in Hyd.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Filled Shell Petrol over the weekend for my Punto at 70.35 per litre. I have been travelling a lot in my car recently and had to fill Petrol from a lot of different outlets. I feel that even if Shell costs more, due to the quality and quantity we get, getting filled at Shell is worth it.
