Today I filled up Rs.1000 worth at Rs.46.75/lit at Shell. The Pump printed bill was not very clear. I requested for another bill. They took me to the counter and got me a new bill issued. Very good service and very polite people. I have become a fan of Shell now. Will not fill anywhere else.
I have got slightly higher mileage from my IOC filling. Close to 1 km more per litre on unleaded non -super. Will have to do a tankful and note down the reading. In B'lore, I got 13km per lit in the NHC. as against 11.5-12

I have no idea but I think they sell only one type of diesel these days. Along with two types of petrol.

Shell at Bangalore

Regular Petrol - Rs.46.75/lit
Super Petrol - Rs.51.45/lit
Regular Diesel - Rs.35.00/lit available only from 1st February
Super Diesel - Rs.38.75/lit

I just tanked up my Indica with 33 Lts of Super Diesel on 14th Morning onmy way to Coorge at their Myosre road Station.

Seen a new Shell Station comming up on Hennur road near Mysore..

Any idea when will the wilson Garden Shell Station be working.

I wouldn't go with Shell for Diesel in my DDIS. It makes engine harsher and noise levels increase. IOC regular is best so far.

My past experience with a shell pump for filling diesel (and during the days of it's higher pricing) has been not so good, and i cannot convince myself into visiting them again :(

History: It took about 5.5 litres of Shell diesel to fill an Indica diesel's tank back to tankfull, when it had done 42 kms in the tripmeter (which was reset during its last refill). I simply did not have the courage to debate over this issue with the pump attendant, and the only resolution i took then was not to return to that place again.

Of course, this would be an isolated case, and not meant to discourage any of you from filling up diesel at Shell .

IIRC, they were only selling Super Diesel earlier and I believe you are talking about Super diesel experience here (I have read you earlier post on this ).

Thats why I was specifically asking if 35/ltr is Super or Normal diesel.

You can never judge the FE of car, in that too in tank full to tank full method, by just driving 42kms.. you can easily pump in 1ltr here and there even if the petrol /diesel is visible after filling. i'd say try driving for some 300-400 odd kms between the fills to get the correct FE.

Checked today at the Shell outlet, it is "Normal Diesel" @35/ltr.

So for you guys where the "Super Diesel"(premium) didnt work earlier, its time to test again and post the results, so will I.
