Edit: just read you post.
I suggest you to drive at least 400-500 odd kms before refilling your tank to note the FE. even in tankful method, 1-2 liters here and there is usual. so if you are filling after driving enough Kms, 1 liter here and there wont make much of difference.
Ok, Let me try to refill after 400-500 kms as you suggested and check. This time I tanked up just after 150-160 kms as I do regular filling every month.

@subbuson: Do tank full once in 200km of driving at least 4 times and take average which would give you actual FE. Thats best method going forward.

Make sure % of Ac usage and driving condition.

Ravi.

Sure, seems like a right way to go. And I always keep the AC running in level 1. Driving condition for me is its our pretty Bengalooru city traffic.

hi all,
Could someone please update the prices of Shell fuel (petrol & Diesel) compared to the normal IOC/BP/HP pumps? have they come to the same prices as the them or is Shell still expensive than the indian companies?

Thanks.

I just filled Shell Unleaded for 46.75 per liter in Bangalore. I think the regular petrol from IOC/BP/HP is 46.XX (sorry dont remember the exact amounts )
Now that the diff is hardly any, I have gone back to Shell hopefully for good.

Edit : THanks IITD Cool so it is great value for money for me. Good service and un adultrated fuel without worrying of being short changed or people trying to distract and fill much lesser amounts

The Normal petrol in Bangalore is 45.99 at Hebbal/Manyata area on ORR and the outskirts. At other city outlets, it is 46.28.
So the difference of 47 paise is not worth it at all. Shell for me. I have filled in at the CBI road outlet. Used to go to Yelahanka earlier. I have noticed my mileage in city rising to 13 kms against 11.5-12 earlier. Long live shell!!!
I next want to try out mileage with Shell Super

Thanks a lot for your replies and clearing my doubt.

Is it the same case with the Diesel too? i.e. hardly mich difference compared to others?

Shell's service is surely very good and also e.thusiastic. I mean, Whatever extra they do, like fill air or clean the glass, they do it with full efforts, and they are very particular about switching off the engine before filling.

Had been to Shell OMR on Friday, and they didnt have normal petrol.
Did they stop selling again? I didnt bother to ask them because I wanted Super anyway...

I think normal runs out of stock quiet fast. A couple of weeks back, I had the same problem with Hosur road Shell. I too thought the same but last week I could fill normal petrol.
