^^^ If you ask me, thats all the more reason to take them on. If they refuse to oblige, you can immediately lodge a complaint with the oil company... and prolly also with the police, etc.

In Pune , it is either Shell pump in Hinjewadi or Bharat Petroleum pump opposite RTO. I have found both of these pumps good and I get a very consistent milage on my Spark.

In this case, its the change in driving conditions or usage of a/c that will affect the overall FE. Rather than relying on FE measured at each tank full, what you could do is average out the readings based on a month or two which will give you a more accurate figure.

They may be, as they both are on the Bangalore route. The one at Chromepet (GST Road) is open 24 hours.

Yes, I prefer to stick to Shell and will do so hence forth. I was cheated at the last fill a few weeks at a PSU bunk. The only reason I switched to the PSU bunk was because Shell was way out of the way from my house ~8 kms one way drive. So in the early morning (6.00 am is when I usually go out to fill) it takes me about 30 mins to drive to the Shell pump, fill petrol and come back home. But now I don't mind driving the 16 kms just for the petrol for the peace of mind that's assured by Shell.

And yes I agree, not all PSU bunks are bad. I have a IOC bunk close to my place, but they stock only Euro 2 petrol and not Euro 3 like all the others, so I stopped filling there as I felt that the engine felt a little smoother on the Euro 3 brew even though they have always been accurate and good.

@Fountainheader

The one in Porur is open 24 hours for sure. I usually fill there before leaving for Bangalore @ 4:30 AM every alternate Monday mornings. But their air pump is not open as the motor is switched off. Never used the Poonamalee one as I use the bye-pass to merge with the GQ.

Recently the govenment announced that the Petrol bunk must be closed at 10 PM, however most of the bunks do not follow but Shell follows it. Once I went to Vadapalani Shell and it was closed at 10 PM. Are you sure Porur Shell is opened 24 hrs ? When did you last fill there ?

I second what Vikrant has mentioned. Based on my experience in the last 9 yrs in Pune, BPCL petrol pump opp RTO has been consistently good. I used to drive 12 kms one way just of fill petrol from there. But now, shell has come up on my way to office and it is really good.
