Whatever the quantity and quality, the price is preposterous.

Just checked; BPCL's Speed 97 costs Rs. 77/litre!!!!

re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Tanked up at Shell in Surat/Gujarat : Rs.68.95/L - for regular petrol.

First time I used Shell, still thinking if it was sensible enough. It is easily 7 bucks over regular petrol prices elsewhere.

If I was sure about the 'regular' petrol pumps (HP/IOC/BP) offering clean fuel (like I do in Mumbai), I would not consider Shell at these rates.

re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Last week I went to Shell and did not notice the price at all initially and confidently said full tank. Looking at 71 odd rupees per liter I was and asked the person why they are filling premium petrol when I asked for regular. He replied this is regular sir. I asked him to stop filling immediately.

I have vowed not to go back to Shell again. It is ridiculous to charge so much !!!

Honestly speaking, I didn't find any improvement in mileage either after switching to Shell. So, with the recent price hike, I am back to non-Shell.

+1. A rupee or 2 is what I would pay extra for Shell petrol for their QUALITY, but definetely not extra ~7rs for the same.

+1!

But till the mess in Libya is sorted out, I doubt prices will lower anytime soon.

I seriously wonder how much business Shell is doing right now.

Think I will shift loyalties as well!

I filled in HP regular unleaded at the COCO pump just before the expressway on Pune side. It is excellent quality and much cheaper as well.

Shell Hinjewadi some of the attendants know me as a regular and last time when I asked for some freebies, discount etc. they took my number and promised that they'd talk to the manager. The next time I filled up, I chatted with the manager but he was quite cold and remarked that the company doesn't do any schemes. I corrected him, telling him about the model car thing they were running some time ago and he was like oh yeah but they will never run a scheme in Hinjewadi. What the hell! I just ignored him and walked out, probably for good.

re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Last i tanked up there, the tank attendant was atleast courteous to let me know that prices have been jacked up to the tune of 7 rs/ litre and if i really wanted to fill up there.. I have been using the shell petrol bunks so long that i am now uncomfortable to use the other bunks.. I went to an IOCL petrol bunk that evening, and after doing a full tank, the attendant tried to rip me off saying that i can fill more if you want.. this tank will easily hold another 10 litres.. I had to politely negotiate my way out of the deal..

You should be able to find a good pump, stick to that, shell is good but not at the current cost/ ltr.
