Re: Trusted/Untrusted Petrol Pumps in Pune

Folks, has anyone filled diesel at Shell Hinjewadi recently? If yes, what's the rate these days?

Cheers,
Vikram

Re: Trusted/Untrusted Petrol Pumps in Pune

Filled up at the Shell on the Poona-Satara bypass (somewhere in between Chandani Chowk to Satara Rd and got ripped off. Got charged Rs. 78.8/lt (non-premium). It was 70 something just some 10 days ago!

Had to fill a litre in bike at the Servo bunk at Karve road and was surprised to find that the rate is 70.91 (non-premium)!

Almost Rs. 8 difference! Can't go that way and count on Shell anymore. I wonder if its possible to call them and ask the rates before leaving.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Hmmm...the BP pump at Hinjewadi charges 68.xx for regular unleaded. I filled at the same rate at Indianoil COCO on the e-way at Khopoli.

That makes it a 10/- difference which is just not tenable (I am usually brand loyal to within 5/- or so). Shell Hijewadi was 75.xx for regular the last time I filled, but I heard there has been another hike!

Has anybody got the Shell Diesel Prices in Pune, post Budget?

Wonder what will be Shell's strategy now, to keep the sales alive..

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Is Reliance petroleum quality comparable to Shell ? My query is cause I never had the opportunity to tank up from Shell but now do so regularly from Reliance. Atleast quantity-wise what I get for a thousand bucks seems to be more as compared to public sector bunks.

You mean to say other bunks are cheating in terms of quantity?

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Yes they are cheating. Quantity wise you will get more fuel proportionally from Shell.

One way to test it - filling up 2L coke bottle based on quantity not price.
I am pretty sure results will be different.

I don't know if all stations cheat but I for sure get more miles out of my vehicle with shell fuel.
More miles can be because of Quality not just quantity.

So if we have to test for quantity, we have to take standard cans and not coke bottles..because Shell stations don't fill fuel in coke bottles or any other similar bottles.

But many other COCO stations advertise that we can test the quantity.
Have not tried it, but I told this just to emphasize that all stations may not cheat.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

^^^Yeah, its written that you can ask for a standard jug to measure the quantity at PSU bunks. Should do this sometime, if someone is in doubt about getting lesser mileage at a bunk.

Probably yes, not all cheat.

Once i was stranded because i had run out of fuel and i had to leave my car and take an 3auto along with empty bisleri bottle to the nearest station. In this situation they did sell me petrol.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

But Shell Petrol is worth filling in your vehicle. I did a mistake once filling my bike from HP and went to Mysore from Bangalore by Bike. Next day my bike started misfiring a lot and silencer was acting like gun barrel.
I consumed the whole petrol every drop till reserve end and refilled the Shell Petrol every thing is back to normal. You get to know the petrol quality immediately. Try moving the fuel ON/OFF knob in your bike. With shell it will be smoother than any other petrol.
