Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Now Shell @ Siddhaiya Road (Jayanagar) has started a Lucrative Marketing Strategy.

This was just being installed when I went into for a refill.

P.S - Sorry about the Picture Quality.

Yesterday evening I filled a tankful at Graphite India station and it was 75.60
Today morning I filled a tankful at Kanakapura road station and it was 75.60
Yesterday night, I saw the hoarding at ISKCON station and it was 76.10
This photo posted by Vik_0728 from Lalbagh station shows that it is 76.10

Its now confirmed that the Stations located on the outskirts of the city are cheaper than the shell stations located in the centre of the city.
I feel they can start a lucrative marketing strategy not just comparing the PSU prices but within shell as well.

Outskirt stations can have the hoarding like
Shell there 76.10
Shell here 75.60

Shell station near Jakkur aerodrome, Bellary road is an exception. Being on the outskirts of the city, It still sells for Rs. 76.10! Confirmed once more today morning!

Relief for Karnataka people. Now filling fuel at PSUs in Bangalore is cheaper as the local levies has come down. The petrol in Bangalore is 75.91/ltr & diesel 44.98/ltr

But I do not know that State Govt has reduced the Taxes or Oil Companies has reduced levies.

So Petrol is now cheaper in PSUs compared to Shell(in terms of price & quality)

This could be OT & sorry about this.

It something to do with the entry taxes and the rationalization. If that is the case, even Shell price is supposed to go down by the same extent. Not sure if this is true.

A rupee lesser at the Shell bunk is very inviting even I had to travel a couple of more kms to refuel, its worth it.

Which station was this? was the earlier price in this station Rs.76.10?
If yes then the stations where it was 75.60 should be 75.25

Superb service, excellent fuel & lower price @ Shell puts a big smile on one's face!

Guys, I had a nice experience at the Shell Ekkaduthangal bunk in Chennai today.

The pump assistant as usual welcomed me with a smile, a vanakkam and a "How do you do?" I was pleasantly surprised to see Shell Unleaded cost only Rs. 72.10 today as opposed to ~ Rs. 73.16 at the nasty PSU pumps where the phrase "customer service" is simply unheard of.

I filled in Shell Unleaded for Rs. 600 and got 8.32 litres of unadulterated petrol in the i10's tank. After filling up, the attendant said with a smile, "Sir, please wear your seatbelt always" to which I replied, "I always do so buddy, thank you!"

I got into the vehicle and prepared to leave - started the engine, switched on the A/C, wore the seatbelt, put her into first and was about to let go of the clutch when he was at the window with a small box in his hand and said with a smile, "This is a small token of our appreciation for practicising a good habit, sir" and I got one of these:

Boy, to say I was delighted at the service at Shell would be an understatement, not to mention their unadulterated fuel and precise quantity! Nice to see the polite, courteous and trained Shell pump attendants also act as safety ambassadors!

What's more, their price (~ Rs. 1.06 lower) puts a big smile on the face now!

I have decided to show the middle finger to the filthy central gubmint-grubby oil PSU mafia and fill only at Shell for as much as possible from now on!
