Filled @ Rs. 73.95 this morning at the Rajajinagar outlet. Differential pricing, even for BSIV?

I too noticed that price is 73.95 at Shell Vignan nagar, Bangalore. Yesterday morning i did full tank at same pump at 75.25

Are we actually saying that price went down from 75.25 to 74.10 and now 73.95 all in 24 hours ? That is too much deregulation

You just happened to be at the right place at the wrong time

Shell probably did a 'price-match' with other OMCs. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, by reducing the cost of petrol by a few paise, Shell can can see an increase in footfall. No complaints from us old timers

No complaints from me either. I fill up from the pump that is on the way. Any deviation from my route would anyway cost me extra petrol.

Its just that I am wondering how the prices are fixed. I am ok if it is done at same time at all shell outlets.

I filled up yesterday evening at 6 in the Bull temple road outlet @ 74.15 per litre!

Doesnt shell change the pricing @ 12 midnight like other operators do?

I filled up for Rs 74.15 yesterday at Rajajinagar. Anyway glad that Shell is dropping prices without waiting for change in PSU prices. I'll be happy if Shell continues to provide the benefit to customers as and when international prices drop. This is what free market pricing is all about.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

How many folks here fill from Shell on Old Madras Road?

I tanked up my car on 31st March at this gas station. It went smooth. I paid by debit card. However; when I checked my bank statement today, I noticed an additional charge of Rs. 82.52 as a separate transaction. The bank statement date indicates this as April 03 with the description indicating as the transaction occurred on March 31st at Shell. This transaction never showed up on sms. I spoke to my bank but they could not help me and asked me to speak to the fuel station which I am going to do tomorrow as I have not carried the fuel bill with me today.

How does Shell take care of cases of over charging?

I am a regular there (many times pay by card).

Has the bank confirmed that it is not a surcharge? If it is not, you can dispute the transaction, they (Shell/bank) would need to produce your signed transaction slip otherwise.

How much did you fill up for? Tankful? Because that would be ~44 litres; and 2.5% of 44*75 is 82. It's most certainly the fuel surcharge.

close to 10 rupees difference between unleaded and super unleaded!
Quoting my own post: to show the differences in pricing
Below is the latest extract from the Shell india website:

The dates are the same but prices reduced by 10-20paise in some cities.
Not clear if it was a Typo or there was a revision in prices again. Whatever it is, It feels good to see Gasoline prices reducing and Diesel prices increasing

So I spoke to the bank again and they did confirm that this is a surcharge. It does not say this as a description in the account statement. Man thats a lot of money. The chap I first spoke to in the morning did not highlight this as a surcharge and asked me to check with the fuel pump and hence I thought of asking folks here on how to deal with this.

Fuel surcharge was always deducted by shell, but this do not reflect on the bill. All debit card transactions for tank full had 75 bucks approx deducted. In sbi credit card amoun in credited back but not completely. I have started cash for every refill.
