Skoda's Mega Plans

Hey Guys

I'm back with some more info about Skoda Auto India

All news from trusted source

the 1.9 Diesel engine we were talking about for Fabia will not be the 1.9PD but the 1.9TDi

Also another new engine will be soon coming to the fabia lineup. It will be a petrol engine but dont be over excited , it wont be the 1.8T, but a 1.6 Petrol Engine with about 100-105 bhp power.

A small car has been finalised which will be between 3 to 5 lakhs and material will be used from the upcoming VW Up Concept

Planning is there to get the Yeti and Roomster ( Yeti not sure though)

Roomster if introduced will be priced in the 9-11 lakh range

Also one of the top officials at skoda auto india said that skoda will launch 3 cars in 3 years.

Enjoy

Abhinav

But why oh why is the Octy, Laura, Superb sections of their site, under construction for the last few weeks.

Today, even the Fabia site is not accessible.

Mega Plans- but no communication

Anyone remember the Skoda Fabia feel special competition that ran on their website?? No sign of it now. And its been 3 months since they promised to post a winner on the site..
you can guess what happened to that as well.
The PR people at the Skoda factory keep promising to call back with information on the contest, but that has not happened either!
The customer experience has been very disappointing to say the least.

Yea Atleast 10 lakh is what i think

Laura VrS , Wait for it like you waited for the fabia.

Because if its three new models in 3 years , i think it will be Superb Followed By Roomster followed by the small car.

I doubt the Vrs will come, India is too fuel milage oriented. For performance, it will be BMW 325 upwards

By any stretch of imagination, that is a very very conservative estimation.

First they need to learn how to price a product and how make it affordable to maintain ( read spare part cost and after sales and service ).

1.6 petrol will be in NHC territory and that wont be good for sales. Others have better value for money.

Cant imagine the cost of 1.9 D that would be from Octavia.

I have a query about skoda.
Which country/region is their USP market ?

The reason i ask is because i have not heard about skoda as a premium car manufacturer anywhere except India, where their cars have a craze factor.

I am aware they have a long automotive history and that their parent group is now VW, but where exactly are they the leaders?

Don't they have a small car called felicia elsewhere. If not mistaken that had a 1.6P.

Felicia is dead and gone. It was based on the old Mk4 Golf I think. Octy replaced it. It was the Felicia that revived the company.
