o well lets see.
Ummm. Its 3.5 and they are not targeting the passat because that comes only with the deisel. Probably they thinking of competing with the soon to come superb and cars like 325i, C-230 Avante-Garde, and Audi A4 - 3.2V6

They want to attract customers who wish to buy performance oriented luxury cars at prices almost 10 Lakh cheaper

No one can sue Honda for the letter. :0) The v6 doesn't sell? Every other Accord that I see in Chennai is a v6 and there are quite a lot of them there. In Bangalore there are more 2.4's.

This type of research is happening all the time. That said, I am sure feedback for the 2.2 diesel will be overwhelming; a luxo barge powered by a competent diesel and with a Honda badge will make Indians go crazy. The entire D segment will go topsy turvy if the car is as well-priced as the I-4.

The V6 would be welcome, especially with a slick manual. Somehow, I dont see that happening (the manual gearbox that is).

Well even superb V6 3.6 FSI is also coming with 260bhp, would be costlier but maybe better too.

No Dude, you got it wrong. If its from a source, then its not a trusted one.

The 3.6 FSI is not coming to the superb as the car would then move into the class like C Class, A4, 3 Series.

Last Night on CNB show, they completely ruled out the 3.6. They, though are unsure about the other engines.

Well even if 3.6 is not coming, the car is said to be priced above passat so that means it is automatically in c class range no?
And the laura vrs, what about that a accord v6 killer?
and there is some 300bhp Vrs skoda not sure if its superb or laura.

the 2.2 diesel goes in the Euro Accord/Acura TSX. Dont forsee that for India. TSX diesel will launch soon in the US.

I beg to differ. If the diesel has some massive torque it could keep up if not beat it.

A similar example is the 525d has almost 200bhp while the 530i has 255, yet performance figures are almost identical.

We all know that this is the NEW diesel. The CRV caught testing in India had the old diesel. The DTEC would be costly for India and for a Honda it might be even more costly.
