IOC introduces RON95 fuel for only Re. 1 more than Xtra Premium so around 4 bucks more than normal:thumbs up.

This is great news. This would become the regular fuel for me going forward.

I filled IOCL XtraPremium on my T-Jet a couple of months back as the regular fuel was not in stock and observed way better engine response at high RPMs on a hot afternoon as if the ECU wasn't retarding the timing like it usually does on regular fuel. Have been using XP since then on both the T-Jet and the RC390 (CR 12.6:1) - both engines designed originally for 95 RON. I had a feeling that they were testing their high octane stuff with XP since they had made public of their plan to increase Octane of their regular fuel. My suspicion might have been true.

Re.1 over XP is a no brainer for me. Another good thing is that they are planning to provide it in 30% of the pumps unlike other high Octane fuels which are available in a handful of pumps across the country. I think we can expect this across all COCOs. In that case, it should be possible to find it on some highways too.

Thanks for sharing the details. Can we be absolutely sure that XP 95 will have a minimum 95 octane rating?

How do they test- I have absolutely no Clue.
google suggests this, any idea how expensive will such equipment be?

Does anyone know any petrol pumps in Gurgaon where we can get XP95? I tried couple of pumps from IOCL website but none of them had XP95 though it was mentioned in website.

Even I am looking for this information. I mostly use the one close to Guru Dronacharya metro station and online it shows they only have XP100.

In Delhi the bunks that used to have 93 Octane earlier have now switched to XP95. I use the one on Panchsheel park going towards Chirag Delhi side.

Not yet, and they don't have a clue, maybe they are happy selling XP100. I went today but could not find any information.

So a friend got 95 Octane today from this Petrol Pump:
Gurgaon Fuels, IOCL FUEL Station
157, Sector 44 Rd, Kanhai Colony, Sector 52, Gurugram, Haryana 122003

Once I run out of fuel in my bike, I will be paying them a visit too.

Anybody got updated list of high octane Petrol pumps in Delhi?

You can use IOCL pump locater.

Enter location -> List of Petrol Pumps and you will get list of bunks with kind of fuel they sell.

Was speaking to someone known in the family who owns IOCL bunk. As per him, IOCL started shipping XP95 in place of XtraPremium fuel in April itself. IOCL has not been able to market it big time due to ongoing lockdown.

Prudent to discontinue XtraPremium as two 'exclusive' products at same price point does not make sense.

Tried the new diet at a pump in Okhla earlier this week for my CLA-45. Can't say how good or bad it is, as we are locked down and haven't got a chance to drive after it. Plus I had a little over quarter tank of Power99 already, so it'll only be after a couple tanks, that I'll really get to know how this new diet performs.

But finally we have an option which is reasonably priced. The pump guys confirmed to me that XP95 has replaced the earlier XP variant and all pumps who were carrying it are now getting it XP95. That means superb availability consistently going forward. clap:

They still don't have but if you go towards Ghitorni, there's an IOL pump on left- HareKrishna Fuels. They have XP95. I got filled today.

Though my car is a little muted, my wallet is extremely happy. At less than Rs 100 a ltr, this is super-bargain even if we compare it with XP97. To me, performance looks similar to XP-97 but since I had 25% of XP 100 already in the tank, I will have a definite answer in the next fill.

Even I got XP95 for my bike this time.

If you are going from Paras hospital to Good Earth, you take right from the 1st traffic light after Paras and this is the 1st pump on left.

I haven't ridden the bike much after the re-fill. Will share my opinions once I get to ride a bit more.

For people in Greater Noida and maybe Noida as well.

The IOC COCO pump in Techzone IV, Greater Noida just before Ek Murti Chowk, after Gaur City Mall stocks XP95. According to the pump attendant, it is quite a hit and they regularly sell 4000 liters.

A quick update, turns out HP has cut the price of Power 99 by Rs 20. Must be due the lower priced IOL 95.

Feels very bad to see PSUs doing such stuff. Maybe expected from private players but HP :Frustrati

They increased around Rs 30 in one go if I recollect.
