In europe Audi have always been in that gap between VW and BMW.

Yup, they've been selling in tha gap but here when even the Passat is positioned at 27-29L, what do you expect? They have to sell it at 30L or so

You think this will be a success at RS 30L + ?

Nope, I don't see either the Passat or this being a sales success at the current price points.

Hello there,

The 3.2 FSI is going to be priced around Rs.35lk EX SHOWROOM. (not OnRoad)
The 2.0 TDI is going to be priced around Rs.29lk EX Showroom (around Rs.33 Lk.)

Now the situation here is...
HYD OnRoad prices:
Bmw 320d Standard - 34lk
BMW 320d Highline - 35.5lk (This is with iDrive!)

Audi A4 is not coming with its MMI as standard in the Diesel versions. so adding it in accessories and etc, i think it will come up as same price as the 320d standard. now only once the car comes out in public, will we know exactly how good it is!

But one this is sure. it is far bigger than the 320d and C class. its just a lil smaller than the A6, which itself is very big.

Now if given a choice, I for one, would go for the A4 outright, mainy for the rear legspace and interior seating comfort, which i just didnt find in the 320d - its cramped like hell!

@Insane Devil - I agree. If given a choice, i too would pick the new audi.
Reasons?
Well -
a - its cheaper
b - it looks wayyy better
c - it is bigger

When someone buys a car of this class, they do it more for the style and success of getting into the league than because the car is worth it.

Sorry Lamborghini mate, there is one problem!
with ur first point - it aint cheap anymore!

I went to the dealer today for the new A4 Brochure, and they said its gonna cost around Rs.34-35lk onroad! the Diesel one! :(

well cheap or not, i believe that the new A4 is going to be a good success in India and it will go a long way to improve the image of audi among the indians. This car looks more premium than the competitors in its class and this matters a lot in this segment.

The 3.2 FSI is a monster of an engine and it would be a great buy for someone who is looking for sporty as well as family sedan. It would be my ideal choice among the competitors

3 cheers to the new Audi A4!

@ID - damn!
But i'd still buy one. Audi's are built almost as well as BMWs and this one looks way better and even though it may not be as much fun to drive, it scores on comfort and space, which I value more given indian conditions.
I love whatever I have seen of this car so far. Seems like i should pay a visit to the dealership once I am back.

Thanks ID! that would mean around 39L on-road right?? I would rather prefer getting a 325i for 32L on-road Delhi or spend a bit more & get the 525d at 46L on-road Delhi!

Not that I can afford any of them! But just to put things in perspective.

Audi group at mumbai is getting huge response for the new A4 already just after the pictures coming out in the magazines.
International critics have acclaimed the cars performance and there is no good reason that suggests that the vehicle will not do well.
3 series and C class will have a tough time. Sure

i have a feeling the new a4 is going to do really well. the 3.2fsi will really be a quick car and will probably be way quicker than the 325i. bmw should launch the 330 to take it on.

hey another thing to note is that the 3.2 FSI will mostly have a six speed manual, where as the 325i only has an automatic. The manual really makes a big difference for people who love to drive .

really? i dont think they will launch a manual since very, very few people would buy it.

most of the magazines and articles are quoting that the 3.2 FSI would be released in manual version, so lets hope for the best
0-100 in almost 6 secs is awesome

Who told you this BS ? Just for facts, a recent study in germany showed that most people want to be seen driving around an Audi A4. So there goes your piece of info for a toss.

The 3.2 is being launched with the manual tranny & believe you me it's a car one has to drive to believe what it is capable of delivering. AND it's a quattro.:D

The diesel is with an auto as is the one that I have, a 7 SPEED

All those who are talking of the "presence" or "status symbol value" take another hard look at the Audi A4 & compare feature to feature & you'll know the "difference"

Cheers

the only luxury car I will consider from hereon will be the Jag or LR.
