Optra SRV now less than 6.5

I got a mail saying "Optra SRV, old price 752,000, now 649,000".

Just wondering if a similar discount is there in diesel version.

Discount for SRV is entirely related to your bargaining skills. I think it sells in low single digits.

With this stupid line in the bottom of the website-

"The information and contents on the website are for research and survey purposes only and do not represent an offer to sell."

6.49L is a good price for the SRV. However, I dont think it will get many takers even at this price!

It seemed very promising but somehow did not click. Now the slashed prices will not really shoot up the sales by any chance. Chevrolet needs to put in an engine with better performance and refinement and also fit in a new gear box. And after doing that they should offer this car with a small facelift for a fresher look at this 'new' price. Now that will be a killer deal.

VGIS is petrol only. No diesel SRV from GM. Either the car has just the badge or somebody has fit in Optra diesel.

Imagine SRV plonked with an optra diesel engine. It would be an awesome package and i guess will have may takers. Looks wise it always had a potential to be a stunner however engine and interiors were a big big let down.

Now GM is doing what Ford India did with the Ikon. Keep high prices in the beginning 7 when the damn thing does not sell, just drop the prices. Buyers who have invested in it really feel cheated. They also tend to suffer in aftermarket prices BIG time.

VGIS (Variable geometry intake system) denotes their petrol engines. The same can be seen in Aveo too.

If it was a diesel, it should have read TCDi!

This is clearly GM getting rid of old stock; the SRV never did sell. Though I have never been a fan of the car, I do admit that its not a bad deal at 6.5 lakhs!

An SRV with the Optra Diesel engine could very well be my next car. Is GM listening? Is it not the next logical step for GM to introduce it?

The lack of Srv's on the roads is a big bottle neck even before i set down to look at buying it.
Whats the point in buying it, then have the car totally depreciate its value.

Theres one good thing about buying a ride like this, you wont suffer from the common car syndrome.
