Price For Delhi Ex showroom

Civic 1.8E MT 10.80 Lakh
Civic 1.8V MT 11.96 Lakh
Civic 1.8V AT 12.66 Lakh
If the difference between all the No's and all the Yes' is going
to be 50K to 56K then one would prefer putting the extra 50K to
get everything to 'Yes'. Atleast I would.

Man, Bangalore is already full of Civics !! Now its going to positively overflow !!! In every major signal there's atleast a couple of Civics if not more. I'm sure a lot of people would buy the Civic now as you still get a whole lot of safety features and a very good car for a lesser price.

I'm happy I got the 1.8S AT and then got Fogs and Leathers done. It was better than buying the V model.

why do you think that? when hotels can already buy a brand new camry at 10 lacs

btw do you mean the hotels will get civic at 5.5lacs?

I guess Hotels buy CBUs because they get tax exemption.. thats why Camry is much cheaper for them... India build cars I dont think have any tax cut for hotels.. Or am I wrong here

According to the Honda website, the difference in price (ex-mumbai) is 1.22 lakhs. Again, this is ex-showroom and hence, the on-road price difference will be slightly more (RTO taxes, insurance etc.).

Quote:
CIVIC 1.8E MT : Rs. 1,133,800

CIVIC 1.8V MT : Rs. 1,255,400
Its pretty smart of Honda to cash in on the initial product demand with an S version, and then replace it with a cheaper / stripped E variant. This allows the Civic to reach a larger target market, as well as prepare for the all new Corolla that is expected in a handful of months.

Of the stripped features:

I personally couldn't care less for any, except climate control. A 10 lakh car just ought to come with climate control as standard.

On the other hand, I wonder about the pricing, when I bought mine (1.8S) last year it was 11.07 Ex.Sh in Chennai and looking to the website it says 10.97 Ex.Sh for the 1.8E, so effectively only 10,000 less now or did I miss something totally ?

Nope, you haven't. Shrewd move by Honda in shuffling prices / equipment. Net net, the Civic loses about 70 - 80 grand worth of equipment, and still sells for only negative value (to the customer, not Honda!) a year later.

To me the V version seems better value now. I read somewhere on team-bhp only, the front fog lamps on Civic cost close to 15k's. Nw of you factor in the price difference and the stripped features, V version is well worth it.

I would definitely want the alloys and the climate control if not the others

Well as for what i have heard, they dont have to pay for the imports or CBUs delaring the car as hotel promotion ( a friend of mine who runs a group of hotels told me this)

OT - 'Honda Civic Sports' coming soon ! Called up the company showroom at Vaishali. They say "YES" !
I've personally seen the car in showroom (along with Jazz), couple of months back. Now removed.
The version had Modulo styled fenders, spoilers, alloys and the sexiest look I've ever seen on a Civic.

I think this is a smart move by Honda to create problems for the soon to Come toyota corolla and others in the same segment.
No climate control is a big letdown.I don't think that would cost much!Even the SX4 at 7L has it!So why not the Civic at 10L?
